what's with the fake names?

Why do people here post under silly screen names and not say who they are? It's hard tp take someone seriously when their name is cheesyhead or rackdude or something and I don't even know what part of the country they're posting from.

The new year is coming up -- time for new beginnings.

How about some of you regular posters come out of the name-closet. You can do it. I know you can.

well, I had my name posted all over AZ not to long ago, not by choice, but anyways my name is Tim Carter and im from WV nice to meet you Mike..
 
One never knows whom reads this site.

It could be your next best friend, or the guy that is going to steal you blind.

As someone that has been on the internet since 1994. I aways play it safe, especially since it is so easy to steal someone identity in this electronic age without ever going out of the house. :o

Just kidding, but this is why places give you the option of using an alias, Mike.

Here is another reason why. go to www.zabasearch.com and put in your name and tell me what comes up.

BTW. My real name is Jonathan Doe. :D

Well, my name is in my signature. I use the handle CANE because that's my nickname in the Flyfishing World. I build custom split CANE flyrods.

Holy cow...thanks for that link. That's pretty scary stuff. I have been the victim of identity theft and it's not pretty.
