Nice run, good stroke, good patterns, nice choice on the 1 ball up in the top corner in the last rack. Unfortunate scratch or you still might be going....
And as Marop said, if you hadn't scratched on that last break shot, you might have gotten into the forties.
Might you have used draw on that last break shot. It looked like a draw angle. Had you just slowed down a little bit on the key ball and not drawn it as far, you would have had a beautiful break shot with more angle and probably kept going.
With your shot making abilities, smooth stroke and cue ball control, I don't think it will be long before you do it again.
I also agree that was smart taking the one off. It cleared that side up nicely.
I noticed Bill Marop has a 120 on the 08 straight pool list.
my resolution is going to be 121. I only have to get 34 past my best ever.
I am going to blast past 100 like it never happened.
can I get a 122 from anyone??
steven
came close just two hours ago running a full rack of 14 balls. I didn't notice but my mate said "hey, your first x" and I choked on the break ball
As I was just a practice opponent for my mate playing youth state championships tomorrow we stopped after 25 innings as he is going play tomorrow with the score tied at 64 each. His distance is 75 points or 25 innings - for kids born 1994 or younger
I'm 10 years older...
we note an x for a full rack on the scoring sheet
4|x|6 = 24
Thanks for the kind words, Dennis. And you were right... it didn't take long. Here is a 37 captured earlier today. It's a little rough at the beginning but it should have been my 50...
My resolution is to crack the top 16 at the World Straight Pool this year, although to be honest only the final 8 would make me really happy.
Last year, for a couple weeks before the tournament I started playing on tight equipment in my local room. It really helped me feel comfortable on the Diamonds, so this year I plan to start that regimen a little earlier, maybe even for a couple months.
My biggest obstacle to achieving this goal, I think, is my tendency to sometimes feel a bit intimidated at the event. Not by any player, but rather the event as a whole. I just have to keep learning that I belong there.
I want to Hit the 100+ club!!! It will be a big climb, as I've never finished the 4th rack, and my potting skills are a little weak. I think if I can attain this goal the rest of my game will be in top shape. I have rarely played 14.1 in the past, as it tests my patience, mental focus, consistency and perseverence........ all my weaknesses..:frown:
So....... January will be testing all variety of break balls and reading all I can find on AZB and elsewhere
...............Feb. will be trying to RAIN 2 racks
...............March will be trying to RAIN 3 racks
...............April will be assess weaknesses and go from there..
i have best success when not thinking about numbers.
Try to shut that out if all possible, if you can shoot with someone and have them do the scoring.
I Should practice what i preach, i tend to tighten up when getting into the higher numbers myself. When you feel that coming walk away take a drink of water wipe off the cue and breathe.
I would like to run 50 this year. Im not sure if the goal is realistic, as i only have maybe 10 run's of 30+ runs and i havent played alot of 14-1 lately, but i feel my game is going a level up and it might be the time to get the 50...
