What Are Your New Years "Pool" Resolutions?

What are your resolutions pool-wise for:

Mine are to:

1. Continue teaching pool.

2. Practicing, practicing, practicing in hopes to get back in dead stroke so I can start playing again {after a year+not shooting league/playing tourneys}.

3. Give CTE an honest try -- I can see where it could possibly be useful for cinch shots -- especially now that I have almost zero sight in my left eye {which is why I have not been playing}.

4. Support my hall by eating there more often, even if I am not playing -- as times will be getting tougher for our sport!

5.. Keep in playing shape by eating properly and exercising regularly. {Mental notes: Bob: See Item 4 above and don't have a burger and fries when they have steak and salad. Walking around the pool table or to and from the bar are not sufficient exercises.:)}

6. Don't become "that guy" -- continue to support the game and not my game.

7. Review this list from time to time and hold myself accountable.

Glad you started this thread. I did one like it for 2008 listing my ambitions for the year & asking what others were aiming for. Sadly my targets were not met, not even close. Knee surgery in May messed up my pool playing for the best part of 2 months or so.

I'll have to dig up the old thread to refresh my memory but my main goal remains the same. That is to play in a bigger tournament, rather than the usual weekly ones I play in. Although having said that, I haven't played in any tournies since July so I really need to get my act together & get back into that!

Wish me luck!!

Good thread Bob!Mine is to continue with live streaming and with help from you and others improve the quality/production.As for my game I would like to be a 9 this year sometime in the ratings and also break my high run of 31 in straights,I dont play it very often but I will start this year. :)

I have broken so many promises that I'm starting to feel I should run for office! :) Sorry about your knee surgery :( -- hope you are a fast mender.

My monetary contribution pales in comparison to what you and others are doing to stream our sport. It (streaming) will grow as will your game. Keep hanging around those warriors at Kolbys, don't be afraid to ask them questions {there are no stupid questions}, and put to use what that "pool" knowledge center has to offer. I will be rooting for you in your upcoming match with Fatboy. Keep that head down Lenny -- all the way until the ball drops! :) Love what you are doing and look forward to watching you develop into a fat rat with all the cheeeeeez!

Thanks Bob and I am going to work on staying down,my body stays down, its the head that is the problem, lol. :o

1. More consistently finish in the money
2. Get my first decent sized tournament win
3. Train for a marathon (good shape = better pool)

Cut my hours on AZ down to 7 hours a week. Can't play pool and be on AZ half the day.

Start entering tournaments and not go 2 and out.

Beat the 9-ball ghost...I'm getting closer.

Spend more time with family to try and make up for my pool bar hopping days. Johnnyt

Spend more time with family while trying to increase the job load on pool tables. Educate more people than last year about tables and cues, so that more money keeps coming back to our industry while improving the quality. And spend less time on MySpace so I can spend more time on the felt!

Pool resolutions:

Play more than twice a month :( Ok, more specific....

Practice 6 hours a week
Play at least one tourney a month
Make some new friends to play one pocket and straight....have only played 8 and 9 all this last year :frown:

get a high run of 100+ in straights, right now just over 70
start winning bigger tournaments
find a shaft/cue that I have no gripe about
play with my dad and my brother more often

i would like to win a golf and a open pool tourney...

Now that would be sweet. I'm certain if you accomplish your goal we will rightfully hear it here:)

My new years pool resolution is to " come out of any match I am playing in with the same attitude as coming into it". Meaning not getting upset with myself missing easy shots or "high percentage " shots, or not beating someone that " i should beat". That should help with the 'in match head scramble' quite a bit.

We will need to extend the day to 30 hours; but, it would be worth it.

Should be a required course in High School under the wood shop umbrella. Advance courses ought to be made available at the college level.

"MySpace" took too much of "My Space" so I dropped it entirely.

To loose weight so I don't have a pillow between me and the table when shooting.:grin-square:

I got in an "8-ball only" rut years ago and once I made the same decision you have (diversity) my game went up a notch or two. Variety is the spice of life.

That's a big jump from 70 to 100+ but you got a whole year to work on it. Let us know "when" you reach the 100+[there is no "if" here} so we AZers can throw some super adjectives laced with trite expressions your way, do the happy dance :happydance:, and bow down by the droves. :bow-down: You may need to replace all your baseball hats though -- your head will be too big for them. :smile2:
