What's Your New Years "Pool" Resolutions?

Practice more

and play more snooker and 3 cushion.

Where do you play snooker? I miss that game.

As for my pool resolutions, I missed out on a 9 ball tourney tonight but it's not 2009 yet so no harm done. Still sucks though. Looks like I'm gonna end up with a 3 week break from the game before league starts up again next week.

There is Little Time Left....

Time is running out and I need another shot of Crown Royal

I'm quitting pool and leaving AZB

It has been a lot of fun but I'm hanging up the cue, no more pool. Time to move on from AZB too, no more posts here after tonight.

Hu

PS: I'm running a little behind. These are my 2008 resolutions. I plan to come back to AZB and back to the pool table first thing 2009!

1. FIRST figure out how to take my (handicapped) left eye out of the picture - have a couple of ideas I need to work on

2. already dropped 1 league night - use that night to spend some hours working out the problem in #1 - there is a pool hall right across the parking lot from my office!!

3. find a good BIH 8 ball tourney on Sat nights (open after break, all ball fouls, all fouls BIH, no "Kitchen" for scratch on break) - start one if I can't find one - word travels fast & the good players will come. Twenty years ago we had them 6 nights a week at different locations. I miss that solid competition that kept you mentally tough.

4. If I can figure out #1 then get together with Max Olds (local senior) to play 1P & 14.1 (I'm patient & a safety opportunist already) and have him show me golf

5. continue to enlist the local better players in my BIH (rules as above) money league

6. continue to encourage pool to anybody who shows any interest

7. continue to support & send business to the awesome guys that own Billiards Direct

8. one of my players is a very old cue that I want to get identified (pictures coming soon)

1. Work out some of my inconsistency issues. I think this lies within my pre-shot routine.

2. improve my average run/break in 14.1 and snooker.

possible help

Something that some pistol shooters do might help you with the eye problem. They put a piece of scotch tape on the lens in front of the weak or bad eye. That makes the good eye do all of the work since the bad eye can't focus and it is much less tiring than closing one eye.

If you wear glasses put a piece of tape over one lens of those, if you don't wear glasses just use some safety glasses to try the idea.

Hope this might be of help.

Have a healthy breakfast then cut out the mask leaving the bad eye shut -- that should do it!

that is exactly 1 of my ideas

I'm going to start a thread explaining the "issue" and bounce my 2 ideas off of you guys

on a side note: I had to take a police firearms class when I was training for volunteer work with the local Animal Control agency - I passed with flying colors & have no idea how I did that

Here goes....

In black and white.

My one and only pool goal...... I think it will take care of all my other goals on the table...... is to get to 100 in 14.1 It's a reach from half way there.... but it is ONLY another 3 plus racks

Now....... to find a way to reach my pool goal w/out interfering with my business and health goals .... that's going to take some real effort.

365 days and counting. Good luck to all others!!

td

My goal is to learn how to play straight pool and run 50 and then possibly a hundred.

Practice instead of just hitting balls!

Play more Straight Pool and One Pocket.

Play/practice every day.

Teach.

Study the game. {more}

These aren't resolutions, resolutions were made to be broken. These are what I would like to accomplish.

I didn't shut my left eye

I think the kick from the gun moved my hand enough to compensate :(
