I would cut the eight straight into the nine with low left, trying to stop the 8 in the nine's position and bring the cue ball near the upper right corner. The opponent should then be left with a long and very tough bank shot at best.
Had this today in practice playing 10 ball. Had broken out the 6 twice, just to have it tie up something else each time. Finally couldn't break out the 8-9 from the 7. Playing the ghost, what's your move?

Playing the ghost, I'm kicking off the side rail to hit just below the 8, then having the cue ball make the 9. I don't know how to WEI it, but in real life, it's not that hard a shot to pull off...
YOu just need to click the 'wei' button above your text entry box, then paste the wei http there. It is really easy...http://CueTable.com/P/?@3HQfY3ITAj3JBjh3PKna3kKna4kbYY3kOrj@
I think this is it... I can't get the table to show up, tho...

Playing the Ghost, I would hit the 8 and let it push the 9 toward the corner
and hope to bump the 9 again with the cb hoping to make it in the corner
while the 8 stays close to the bottom rail
Aha....I read 'ghost' this time, Neil.
