WheatCues "More bang for the buck" !

First off I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and acceptance AZ billiards has shown to me as a professional cuemaker in this tough market !

I wanted to take the time to explain a commonly asked question that my customer's and potentials have asked in hopes that this will claify any confusion that anyone may have....

As most of you already know, I hand-pick the majority of my exotic woods from Pete Ohman "OmenCues" so quality is NEVER an issue and I'm very fortunate to have Pete as a very close friend, he has been very helpful to me over the years and I think of him as my "mentor" in the cuemaking world...

My base price for a custom fitted and built cue is 350.00 this includes all the basic essentials and longer overall lengths if neccessary !

The BONUS is: decorative rings in ALL locations if desired and color/hue adjustments with the exotic woods as well as there being no charge for the nice grade of wood and any additional length the cue may be due to the custom fitting techniques and dimensions.

Certain grades of exotic hardwoods command an additional price due to obvious reasons and the base price will be reflected if applicable....

Points, inlays, bells & whistles are also an additional charge and are priced accordingly !

Break/Jump cues start at 225.00 and I offer matching sets as well as matching the woods and joint collars and rings to your favorite playing cue so that if you can still have a matching set without having to buy another cue for those of you who are just in the market for a great J/B cue !

I also use my exclusive phenolic impregnated leather tip to ensure a better spread of the rack with a more explosive break, than the standard phenolic tip offers, not to mention effortless jumping as well !

Sneaky-pete CONVERSIONS start at 275.00 this is a 1-piece house cue butt stock that has been completely customized to your specifications ! NOT to be confused with a 4-point custom cue made from scratch.

I understand that these prices are low and makes some question the quality of the work in direct relation of the price so I want shed a little light on my logic behind my prices...

I am a NEW cuemaker on the national/international scene and even though I have over 18yrs. experience on a local level, I am a virtual unknown in the cuemaking world, so I cannot expect to command higher prices for my work. Also my price is affordable enough to allow anyone to have my cues and when they receive more than they were expecting and are completely happy with the performance and asthetics of thier 100% designed cue, they will advertise for me ! "I think of it like a bunch of micro-networkers" I want volume sales and saturation and are not looking to attract a certain geographical region or sterotype or to make a "score" off of just one sale !

I build "tools" for players not "art" for collectors and being player myself before anything else, this allows for an excellent communication and understanding when discussing hit, playability and feedback when setting up the cue to play EXACTLY how the CUSTOMER wants it to play !

I take what I do very seriously which is why I posted this thread and are available most of the time to answer ALL questions via AZ billiards, E-mails and telephone !

I have been repairing and building custom cues here in Florida on a local level since I was 18 yrs old. and just recently went mainstream in Jan-08 at 38yrs of age !

I stand behind my work 110% and warranty any adjustments neccessary to guarantee customer satisfaction !

Thanks again for all the support and feel free to contact me anytime regarding questions or comments.....

Here's an AZ thread featuring a few pics of my cues if you would like to get an idea of the quality of cue you get for the price: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=91822

And also here's a slideshow link for more photos and decriptions of some of my work: http://www.slide.com/r/ynHAAYrl2z98HJwXMAgU1KMADNw-BGGF

Thanks for your time !

Very Sincerely, Eddie Wheat 321-631-1827

This is quality cue maker folks. Not a cue assembler. Look at the pictures he's furnished and tell me I'm wrong. He will work with you on anything you need and his cues hit the lights out. I'm almost certain that in the near future, Wheat cues will command the high price for his work. Good luck Eddie and as soon as I get out of my slump I will be ordering a cue from you.

Overwhelming? 20+ cues on order and you're advertising for more?
Not my business but hotels don't advertize rooms during conventions.

Btw, this is the first cue review by the maker himself in this section.

Actually my prices will stay reasonable no matter how successful I may get due to the "blue collar" players and enthusists I cater to and not the high end art collectors !

But thanks for your enthusiam and support !

Very nice peeps here at AZB.

A Wheat thread originated in July...with just over a half dozen replies. Something's awry here.

I do agree with Mr. Wilson. Eddie, the most important thing in cue building, and in life, is balance. I truly hope you find it!

To make Eddie's week even worse, he lost on the first question on Millionaire last night.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but hopefully this will make him realize that you sell cues with your product, NOT your mouth.
