I have every right to post on any topic I deem worthy of my interest. If you think me being called a "c" word is worthy of mention in this thread, then it shows me what kind of character you have to pollute this thread with that vulgarity, which I did not deserve, by the way.

I don't even post here very often anymore. Just recently on this topic.

Your post is pollution to my eyes. Why not post on topic instead of being the inhumane person you are by referrring the "c" word and my name in the same sentence. You've got a lot of nerve.

You're right, you do have a right to post where and when, you just don't have the right to attack people like you do. They disagree with you, fine, don't attack them though. And your "I don't post here very often anymore" is a line of BS. You know you are still the most active and vocal member of this community. Maybe you should start acting the part you want to be and start posting with a better attitude.

I have not attacked anyone, unlike you in this thread attacking me. Boy, talk about the pot and the kettle.

I have actually contributed content to this thread as well as shared some opinions with others.

I don't post here very often, for good reason, and my attitude is just fine, but this is one "chick" that doesn't take crap off anonymous trolls or bullies.

You have yourself a nice day.

Such lies. Care to get the opinions of other people before you make such a brass statement again? I try and read threads on this forum because of the topics being discussed, everytime you start posting, the thread gets derailed(yes I'm dereailing here) by you. You and your highly professional opinion feels the need to voice it at any point you think someone else opinion is wrong. But please, continue to think that you do nothing wrong and all you do is contribute. You have such a wonderful life anyways right?

As to this thread, anything less than 50% split when under $10,000 just ain't worth the time. Anything over $10,000 then the split could be different as the payday is the sole importance.

If you're looking to flame someone, you can pick and choose your threads. If you take a look at my posting history, I have contributed way, way, way more pool-related content than many on this forum. But it is easy to just point out threads such as this and act as if all my threads are, in your eyes, the same.

You must have a wonderful life if you see the need to continue to needle me on this thread. Anonymous posting is quite convenient, isn't it? You can attack others and just sit back and enjoy the flame.

I personally agree with this.
If there's money to be made, surely the backer should see there end back first and then a straight 50/50 split.
Everyone goes home in a limousine

Backer, player, good business relationship and friends. These two left Atlantic City in a limo right after this photo was taken. :)

I'm not attacking others, I'm attacking you . I'm attacking you for the way you've attacked other people and their opinions. You act as if the stories from XXXXX are the only ones worth listening to. If someone tells their personal opinion, you feel the need to lash out and demean them, that their opinion isn't valid. Opinions can be void of facts, and if you wanna stick to the facts, you have rubbed more people wrong than I can ever hope to. Remember the only reason people know who you are is because of the man you married, without him you're just another troll like every other annonomous user.

If I rub anonymous trolls and bullies like you the wrong way, then that is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

As far as me and pool, I've got quite a few accomplishments on my pool portfolio long before I met Keith. Thankfully, nobody can take these memories away from me. If you think nobody knows who I am in the D.C. area, you're mistaken.

I'm wasting time with you, though. I'm sure you will come back with another nasty retort. I'd rather make money than waste my time communicating back and forth with you. See ya' and wouldn't want to be ya', an anonymous troll.

Save your breath, dude.

If JAM disagrees with you, it's not that you're wrong.

It's that there's something wrong with you.

Ah yes, knew I should of showered first. JAM if you think I'm trolling, I got a few other websites I'd like to introduce you to. You'll learn what trolling is. And I'm so glad that area in which you live, has people who know who you are. Most, if not all other people outside of DC learned who you were from being shown your face on TV and us being told who you were dating at the time. That's where I base my opinions on. I wish Keith would start posting again so facts wouldn't be lost in translation. You're a spin doctor with words, it's what you're employed to do. Just because I don't feel the need to announce to the whole world who I am doesn't make my opinions any lesser because your perceptions of what trolling are.

My face has only been on camera one time in a pool-related venue, and after I discovered that, I always made sure I sat in an place where the camera would not be able to film me. That was my first experience seeing Keith on a TV table, FWIW, and I was excited to be near him.

You can see me on C-SPAN from time to time, but it's usually my back, not my face. :grin-square:

I wish I could have joined this forum anonymously, so I could have as much fun as you.

Maybe he was saying your "classy". Your the one who "assumed" it was another word. Or is it just the "c" word only has one meaning when directed at you.

And as far as posting on any topic, I agree you can post on any topic you want.

But please don't expect us to believe that Mr. Pro Pool Player spoke to you and you posted his words in "verbatim".

I have read a few of his posts and lets just say English is not his strong suit.

After thinking about it some more, and looking at the math a little more carefully, I've come to two conclusions.

1. 50/50 splits (on the profit) are okay if it's a short term deal. So if you want to back a player in one big set, then 50/50 is the fair way to handle the split.

2. If you're entering into a long term deal with a player, then 50/50 is as good as lighting money on fire. Reason being is that every time your player loses (which will happen no matter how good the horse), you eat the entire bet, and when he wins you only get a percentage. In other words, his wins might not always make up for your losses.

You can obviously make up for losses by betting more, but then you risk losing even more money if your horse doesn't win.

Well, that shows me that English ain't your strong suit either, Pal. Keith's words were written verbatim, with all the grammar faux pas. Interesting you didn't notice any. :grin-square:

So now it's time to attack Keith. :frown:

One thing that I have been pondering is how the gambling or wagering would come into play with taxes.

If a pool player does not turn a profit within 3 to 5 years -- (can't remember which) -- the IRS will deem the pool player as a hobby and not a business.

A loss can be claimed as a deduction, I'm thinking, if it occurred in a challenge match and not some back-room action game. Just food for thought to the topic. :)

OMG! You're right. That was the only time I've ever been on camera in a pool setting. I was green to the pro tournament scene at that time, having taken a hiatus from pool for a long time, and had I known the camera panned the audience members, I would have been sitting elsewhere.

My scariest experience involving backing was walking into a restaurant
in Southern Pines NC a few years ago. Buddy Hall and Mike Lebron and
another guy who was even bigger were jut sitting down.
Buddy calls over and they were gonna eat and they were looking for a backer.

I'd rather stake SC5 against SVB.....

When we were in Orlando, Buddy told us about this "great" all-you-can-eat restaurant. We went there, but the food was not that great. Sure, it was all you can eat, but veggies out of a can, et cetera.

Next night, Ronnie Wiseman invites us to this fancy restaurant. One steak cost $75, and it didn't come with anything. A filet mignon was $100-something. The veggies, bread, salad were all extra. Our cut of the bill for just two of us was $350 with tip. The entire bill was over $1,000. Never forget that meal.

What a contrast!
