Anything wrong with cutting the ball to the head rail and back down?
What are you going to do with the cue ball?
Lots of banks left if you do that.

three poor shots in a row. they should both stick to 9 ball.
the 3 rail shot had a kiss in it and he didnt know it and to keep the cue ball out of the path. wasn't bad luck just a bad shot.
watched a few of their shots and it is clear to me they are not highest level thinkers at one pocket and weak on their speed control on skin the ball safes.
they are straight shooters though for sure.

take the straight shooter stuff back. missing too many easy banks and not getting the right position.
taking forever to find the obvious shot. and like at 1.38 and some, he breaks open the stack with ball in hand. so deluna can run out if he leaves a bank. while only needing 2. that was a rookie mistake/

I thought it was a trick shot at first
you need to learn to see the kisses they are relatively easy to spot and most can be gotten out of with the right english and speed.
force follow helps on many.
scratches you can see the angle of where the cue ball is going and change it or the speed so it doesn't get there.
some shots you have to turn it loose and take your chances though.

The pool gods have been against me since I took up this sport/hobby years ago.
If I had a dollar for every time being out of position by one inch cost me a runout I could go ahead and buy that Gold Crown VII.

Back and forth it, avoid the side pockets, done. You can even play the leave since misses will leave similar object ball landings - 'sept for the timed accident.
The way I shoot, it's the thin ones. I shoot 'em any way because I like how the natural paths work; like pool in a way.If one learn 3 cushion you would know that half ball cut makes those ball kiss every time..
I can't believe you really think these guys aren't high-level thinkers who can't shoot straight.
I always say it and have seen it many times. You have someone beat down. You have the chance to put them away and you dog it. The pool gods say welllll there was your chance.. then every roll imaginable goes against you and you have to go into full grind mode to win it. I’ve had it happen both ways.
