When you jump, will there be any damage on table?
If so, how to fix?
Change tablecloth or do the stone table / slate damage as well?
Ok, I see some white spot and perhaps a tiny dump in table(very small, you can allmost not feel it, but it is there)no damage if done correctly
no damage if done correctly
Not true at all,,,,forcing the ball into the cloth at that angle will certainly cut the fibers of the cloth. We have 6 almost new Diamond pro-ams at my hall, all the same age, all setup the same day, and all with new Simonis,,,,the "one" table in the center of the room that usually has a nineball game going on it already has at least a dozen little frayed holes showing thru the simonis. Granted that every jump shot may not cut the cloth, but some certainly do. The only difference in this one particular table is that it gets alot more nine ball play than any other table in the room.
I know it is within the rules to jump,,,,but I don't think it should be. If I don't know the rails well enough to make a good hit on a ball then I should take the BIH penalty when I miss.
If it is only damage / burn marks in the cloth, I can just buy new / change table cloth.
But if stone take damage, it is not that easy and then much more expensive.
I have a friend who thinks allowing a flipped quarter to land on his 860 Simonis causes small tears in the cloth that eventually open up and become visible. I must say the location of the tears on his felt have a high correlation to where the coin lands. Anyone else have this thought?

Yes I will get a little cloth under the cue when I break & make jumps(for trainingIt leaves those white friction spots. Same as around the rack from popping the cue up on the break. When I jump I alway put my little break cloth under the cue. Helps.
