I have to admit its happened to me, usually when I'm trying to do too much with the CB...........

Add me to the list....I'll pretend it was for the same reason...for a cluster breakout, traveling 3 rails:eek::eek:

Actually, pretty much straight in..:o

I can't remember but the 8 and 9 were on opposite end rails and I tried to get too cute with the cue ball and knocked it off the table.

Ugh, last time I played I had BIH and missed because I was too focussed on breaking up a cluster. Then there is the time where I tried to combo a couple balls that were tied up thinkng it'd be an easy run out after fixing that. Oh, and that time I just had to make a simple cut shot for position on the final ball and somehow screwed that up too.

So yeah, been there and done that.

Now that I think about it, more than a few 9 ball combos trying to take the fast way out.

It's not that rare. In the ?1998? Camel Tour 10-ball event in Cherry Hill, NJ, Efren Reyes, in a match against the late Tony Ellin, missed twice with ball in hand.

Having ball in hand doesn't always mean you are playing a really simple shot. Sometimes making the next shape requires shooting something that's missable.

As for me, I've missed with ball in hand many, many times.

embarrassingly often. Usually trying something at he edge of reality to get shape or open up a cluster when I should just play another safety.

Today.....5:30pm.......went for a 4-10 combination in a 10 ball match for a quick kill and missed........jawed the 10 ball.........lost the game and the next game too.......end result.....lost match.

There's something about having BIH that tells us we don't have to aim or do our normal PSR. I guess it's the idea that "I placed the CB exactly where I wanted it, so there's no need to aim."

I think this is what caught me once...I've probably have missed the easiest BIH in this
thread. :o
Ball in hand on the 1-ball....it is one diamond from the side and one diamond and a half
out from the rail....I wasn't spinning, ALL I had to do was roll it in for shape on the two...
....didn't even hit a jaw and I got beat 9-1....:banghead:

I feel on the bad days, I don't see the shot...I see the IDEA of the shot....
....like looking at life through a periscope.

Trying to shoot the difficult shot to get it dealt with early, get great position, but the ob doesn't drop. :( Too many times to count.

I read this thread a little bit ago and was trying to remember when it was...then went to go shoot a couple games before everyone else went to bed. Ball on hand...tried to juice a draw shot with cue ball and object ball right on the rail...horrible stroke...hopped (scooped) the cue ball right over the object ball into the corner pocket!!!

Good news is I was playing myself...got ball in hand again!!! LOL :)

Two days ago, I think? One pocket though, so at least it was in the kitchen.
