When was the last time you played Pool away from home?

I hit the “Jackpot” on Sunday for a few hours at the Velvet Touch pool hall in Honolulu.

The tables were WAY faster than Hawaiian Brian’s.

I don’t like bunting.

I played last night. Smaller capacity, the few there wearing masks, minimal contact.

Playing more now than I have in years. Managed to play a high talent tournament on the weekend. Something I haven't done for nearly 15yrs.

Numbers are limited, last call has been dialed back, and masks must be worn. Last call changing doesn't effect me. The limited numbers means I don't have to climb over bar rats to order food between matches. ...and the mask doesn't phase me.

Now that I think about it, I'm enjoying pool more now than I have in a long time...lol

When was the last time you played Pool away from home?

I practice 2-3 days per week at a couple different Pool Halls, every week.

Each time, I try to play on a different table.
It helps to keep my game adaptable to various cloth; cushion; table conditions...
Although it's easier to familiarize myself with one table, I find it more advantageous to be able to play on any table when the occassion requires.

Last night. Friends have a table in their private "clubhouse" in their community. I play APA Mondays, and my Tuesday Gold Coast league just had sign-ups to re-start in Dec. I also meet a couple of friends Friday nights for dinner and play some games after. Probably playing tonight. I feel fortunate to have had this outlet which I think has improved my game. Everywhere I've been everyone is respectful of today's situation.

Been a while, even though I might be dying to play pool I don't really want to die from playing pool. Two
of our rooms are now open and less than 50% of our players have returned. This is a senior area and many have pre-existing conditions myself included.

Friend and I play billiards at each other’s house. His wife and mine his are nurses that work together.

The 4 of us hike and cycle together. Even then we keep reasonable distance.

No desire to go anywhere that isn’t a necessity...even more so if alcohol is served. Everyone claims to be safe but don’t realize they talk a little louder and get a bit closer after that beer.

‘if’ I didn’t have my own table I might go to a pool hall in off hours and play on my own. I can wipe the rails down and nobody else Is touching the balls or the cloth.

I ask as we are stil under lockdown in some places. Me was Monday, half our table are DO NOT USE, 14, out of 29. I sucked, as I am rusty, use to play better when I played more.
Last night. I went to two bars. Someone saw me standing with a beer in hand at both places and asked me if I wanted to shoot a game. I was totally in stroke out of the gate. I kind of chuckled all morning thinking about it.

Never had a table so technically I always play on the road. :D Nowadays there's several bars within 20 miles so I get some kind of daily workout; if not by myself then on the regulars and walkins.

Last night.
Did alright.
Missed some shots I should've made.
Got unlucky with the cue ball rolling a little too far or coming up a little short for positioning a couple times.
Nothing too unexpected when playing on a table I'm not familiar with.

After 20 games, and 8 different opponents, I left the table with 16 wins and 4 losses.

Beginning of March was the last time I was in a poolroom.
A new room actually opened about 20 minutes away from me.
8 or 9 GC V 9 footers.
They have a couple tournaments a week with some mid 600 Fargorate players attending.
It's killing me not attending.
I do play almost every day at home on a nice GC III.
It ain't the same though.

I played in a tournament here in Missouri two weeks ago and I am playing at one again this weekend out of town in Oklahoma. I have been playing in tournaments about every 2 weeks. I will keep playing in them so long as venues keep putting them on. I am having hernia surgery in three weeks so I may take a couple weeks off after that...just depends on what the docs say. I am willing to drive up to 3hrs for a same day event with decent races and longer for events that are 2 days or more. I had booked my hotel for the Derby but now that is canceled. I don't believe the virus is a hoax but I do believe that treatments are politicized and that the numbers are being massaged like crazy to justify the shutdowns which are really to impact the economy and therefore the stability of our country. We are at war whether you want to admit it or not and the war is not with the virus.
