Joann Mason - Joann Mason Parker - that I believe is her name now - Where she is I do not know but I remember her practicing in the late 80's in the late Jimmy Cattrano's rm in Rego Park , NY - she used to practice on a 5 x 10 and she really played good - you knew she was going to take down a big tournament - her father Harvey Mason used to accompany her and he was a good player.

Wow, this got me thinking, which doesn't happen very often according to my wife!!

There are alot of people that come to mind, that I haven't heard about in a long time.

One for instance is Sal Butera.

Anyone know Sal and what he is doing nowadays??

Russ.....

How about Greg Fixx?

good question, coltrain and fix were staples on tour during the 90's and early 2000's

Coltrain i heard had a nerve condition that madehim shake too much to play(worse than Stevie Moore or Varner)

dont know what he's doing now but Johnny Archerwould probably know

I've seen Pete Margo once a year as he used to stop in for the Jack Colavita/Comet Billiards straight pool tournament. From what I heard he did something with Palmer video (not sure about that) but it did have to do with videos.

He walks in like he has the confidence of a superstar. Like he still could beat anyone. From what I hear, he played fantastic.

Recently, on another forum, someone said that Sal Butera took over Moorpark Family Billiards somewhere in Southern California.

Makes sense, last I knew Sal still lived in Simi Valley and was no longer working at Quinessentials in TO.

Greg Fix is busy in the world of work at IBM. Last time I talked to him, he doesn't have any or much interest in pool. Plays here and there but not much competitively. I haven't run across him at the IBM site yet. I have bugged him to come to my house to play on the Diamond but he says pool doesn't interest him.
