Where do you eat when your at the SBE?

Was it called the Blue Grotto?

According to the Radisson website, they only have Chumley's, Blue Grotto, Cafe Soleil for breakfast buffet, and the Ice nightclub.

I haven't been to the SBE in a few years but I used to like the restaurant right next to Chumley's in the hotel...I can't think of the name though. It had higher prices than Chumley's but the food was better and the service was much better.

p.s. On Sunday mornings they have a a good breakfast buffet at Lily Langtry's, also in the hotel.

places to eat at SBE

First time there so I'll try a couple of them................

If anyone goes for cheesesteaks I like mine "wit" american. Not to big on the cheesewiz myself. I am tied to the booth so I cant go.

There is a really good burger joint called Gino's that has opened up since last year, it's right on 202 across the street from the mall. Lots of great places to eat all around though. I will probable eat at my house (it's less than a mile form the expo!)

It's not anywhere near the SBE at King of Prussia, but…

Anyone heading towards NE Philly to the vicinity of Tacony Billiards and looking to try the 'best' cheesesteak, should check out:

Chink's Steaks
6030 Torreadale Avenue
Philadelphia.

It's worth the trip and easier than fighting the tourists at Pat's or Geno's.

I always hit Ruth's Chris and the other steak house near the mall. Kobe steak house is just up the road that runs in front of the mall in a hotel that used to be the Hilton.

An update to my post on this thread from last year; the brilliant Irish pub, Kildare's, is closed down.

Best bangers and mash I ever had.

Best,
Brian kc

Not sure the parking at the new venue so I do not know if leaving is an option. It is pretty busy at the event and if parking is as bad as the old place, don't leave. Chicken fingers and fries baby.

Some people are talking about food in the hotel. Don't forget this year's sbe is NOT at the same place.

Since this years event will be in the new location.
You don't actually have to drive all the way back to KOP from the Expo Center to eat. You can continue driving WEST on 422.

If you were to leave the Expo Center and continued West on 422, a few miles, you will eventually hit the Collegeville exit and the Providence Town Shopping Center that has a couple places to eat.

Obviously, KOP has more dining facilities, but just in case people thought that KOP was their only option.

eating....

you can also turn right out of the facillity on to Egypt Road and it will pass several places on it long slow horseshoe of a road.

links for beverages for SBE

To all those attending SBE 2012 at the Oaks Expo Center The facility does have its own Liquor license for the attached bar and in house sales. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed to be brought in to the facility. I do not know about the non-alcoholic beverages.

For those of you who are not familiar Pennsylvania has some odd and old rules about the sales of alcoholic beverages.
Beer
6 pack and up to a 12 pack may be purchase at a bar or restaurant and only a 12 pack may be taken out each trip of the bar or restaurant
Case sales are handled by Distributors. If you buy more than 10 cases you may need to sign a form at the distributor.

Alcohol and Wine sales are done by State owned and operated Wine and Spirits

I usually go to the typical chains. Saves me time ordering and going back to the pool table. Red Lobster always has lobsterfest going on at that time of year. Lonestar always served me a nice piece of dead animal. Hooters sucks out there. There was a place called "seasons" I believe, for the health conscience in some. Every platter is designed to only give a certain amount of calories. I have to admit, the food was great tho!
