Throw a quick question out there.. Where do you buy your masterpiece cues, your one of a kind cues from the legendary cue makers?.... I spent a good part of last nite just buried in the Internet looking at some of the most beautiful cues Ive seen thus far in my life (I'll Post pics in another post) and I was wowed.. From the TADs, to the incredible Gina, to hercek, Scruggs...... Absolutely gorgeous.... We play this sport, and the weapons we play with are works of art.... No other sport I can think has tool that's used to play with and can be considered a work of art........ I was looking at websites such as www.jjcue.com, www.cornerstonecues.com, and www.indyq.com.

I was wondering if anyone has purchased a cue from either of those sites, are they reliable?

I'm definitely not buying one of those cues..... Yet as from earlier posts I'm preparing for my first starter cue..... But i like planning for the future, and who doesn't appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship that goes into those legendary cues

I don't think J&J sells any of the cues you mentioned.

.

Yes, they do. They cover a pretty wide spectrum. I think that often when people see a seller or web site offering "bargain" cues they too quickly dismiss them.

They have a good reputation AFAIK. I have never bought a cue directly from them so I can't say personally, but I have followed their stock and sales for years as well as talked to people who bought from them.

I will say that some of their "low end" offerings like their break and jump cues have established quite a reputation for high performance at a low price. Obviously these are just branded imports, but nonetheless their company name is on them.

I do have one sneaky branded by them that I bought new in Southern California about 1998 or 99 when I was there without a cue. A player of very substantial reputation was in town and I wanted to play him. I bought that sneaky for that reason and it has been a great cue over the years, I still have it. It is my "bar cue". I actually have a couple of Scruggs shafts for it now so it is a bit hot-rodded. But I do still have the original shaft which is actually very respectable.

You need to look a little deeper. IMO, J&J is a toilet.

Come out of your shell Jay, and tell us what you really think about JJ Cues.

Personally I prefer to deal with private individuals rather than dealers.
Alex/poolshrk22 is a terrific person to deal with, especially for Sugartree cues, and several others.
I also like Martin/jazznpool

Unless you are in with TAD Cues, you have to order through JJ. Exclusive dealer (unless things have changed the past few years).

I've dealt with indyqs once. Really nice cues on the site, but I will never go through the pain of dealing with Roy ever again...

I see. I would love hear about it.
Obviously I am unaware..

Received a new product from them which was defective.
They refused to replace, but offered the option to return for a refund minus 20% restocking fee. Return shipping would be at my cost.

I would not do business with them again.

Any business who deals with a paying customer this way should be shunned.

If YOU send me some defective shit, it is YOU who should make it right by absorbing any costs that may be incurred in making things right.

You're right!

One "Dogs Playing Pool" is worth two "Elvis" paintings.

My Elvis McDermott is worth eight mall store light-up cues, or two of measureman's electronic store Lucasi cues.
I picked up a 13.5mm shaft for the McDermott cue, and call it the "Fat Elvis"
Very collectible

Omega cues. Mike is easy to deal with. Grounded and low key person. Traded my Gina to a Tascarella then my Schon to a Palmer...no squabbling..done in 5 min.
