Hey gang,
One of the most honest guys around here got banned from the forum. From what I've heard because he said certain things to fatboy and somebody else he got banned. What kind of rules does this forum has? He took quite a long time for the forum admins to bann ChrisC. Probably after this post they might even bann me. I just see no rules on this forum. Honest people get banned just because somebody said something that some forum admin buddy did not like and that is it.
I am here in the forum to exchange ideas, get some good deals and have fun. Why don't forum admins post why certain members get banned? And who got banned? We created this community and we have the right to know what is going on.
 
I don't know if the bann is permanent or just temporary, but I wouldn't mind hearing the details behind the situation. I think Smokey is a great guy, and was surprised to hear that he did something so bad that he diserved to be banned. Hopefully he'll be back soon.

The situation with ChrisC was different. I think the idea was that it's relatively easy to re-register under a different name, so as long as we knew who he was, we could avoid doing deals with him.

As always I respect your opinion, but it really sucks when nice folks like smokey get banned for really dumb reasons. I know a good chunk of the story and I guess it does help to have friends on this forum on the administration side to get a nice guy banned and a few guys laughing on his back.
 
Smokey was banned during the thread about Fatboy and what his profession/business is. I think the thread got deleted. This was not a suspension, but it was a permanent ban i believe.
 
he should be allowed back, there was a beef and its all good now, i hope. i'd like to see him back and also him see this post.

Smokey really blew up for a little while. I think he expected to be banned and wanted to let loose before it happened. If you had read it you would not be surprised that he is gone.
 
i talked to him and he said it is permanent.i don't really know exactly what went on for the ban,but i do know that everyone i know here and myself really like Miles and respect him.he was a great forum memeber from what i saw and bought lots of high end cues as well with no questions asked.i saw a couple of bad deals go down that he was on the wrong end of.i realy can't believe he was banned for life,and i would really like to know what it was for.as far as having freins here,i do believe that goes on.i have seen threads locked that had on reason to be locked other than that a request was made to have them locked.i am pretty unaware of what goes on around here,but i do believe stuff like that does happen.
 
I just pm'd AZhousePro. Smokey is really a nice guy. How many people here do act dumb and do not get banned?

I personally have no problem with letting him come back, but I hardly interacted with him here. You're right that people act dumb and don't get banned.
 
SMOKEY committed suicide by moderator.

That being said OTHERS, who have been guilty of stated lifetime ban transgressions, have returned and are once again making valuable contributions.

Anything is possible...
 
Let's be honest here and straight up. That is all dumbness and you guys know it. I was even talking to smokey yesterday and one of the things he said was the he missed the folks at AZ. I am not begging to have SMOKEY back, but what I am saying is that good people always get overlooked and he actually said some things that were true and some people did not like it. Probably should have been said in another way... Even one of the guys envolved on that thread already said he would like to see the guy back and I second that.

Just to be clear, he was personally insulting to a number of people in a very crude way, not just saying some true things that others didn't want to hear.

That is the reason why I said that things should have been said in other way. There are ways to talk to people.

just wondering who among us has not had our alligator mouth overload our hummingbird arse in the heat of a particular moment. I personally have said some things over the years when I was mad or percieved an offense or insult. I calm down and generally regret those words. Aplogize when I can, and attempt to make amends. The powers that be here are masters of thier own decisions.... so, I really don't know Smokey, but feel, especially since Eric says all is well now, that maybe a review by the powers is in order??:)

I agree. Give him a timeout and then let him come back (on probation)..... imo
