I mean what 3 cushion shots do most 9 ball players not really know about and would help their game a lot? Obviously any shot into the corners are thrown out, but there must be a lot of position shots out there.

3C skills reward 1P players to a greater degree

It's not about the shots it's about cue ball knowledge, angles, spin, etc.
Learn to play 3 cushion and master them all.

When you can do anything with the cue ball all games become easier, especially mentally, your thought process gets cut to milliseconds.
Your safety play and kicking recognition will rise to new levels never seen before by mankind.

Shots and pocketing balls are childs play compared to cue ball knowledge and stroke control.

P.S.....3 cushion is the best game on the planet.
Followed By 1pocket and 14.1 or 14.1 and one pocket.
Rotation gets lapped everytime, comes in last at the Indy 500

Many people incorrectly believe 3 cushion is only for going around the table. If you learn the back and forth cue ball control you are way ahead of many.

As for position play learning how NOT to scratch is rather useful.

ticky shots, rail first shots, and across the table shots help position. and as said kicks are easy instead of just guessing at the point to aim at.

The 45 ish degree shots played with a little inside spin to come long short long back Dow table.

Everyone scared to death of that shot.

Wouldn’t call it a 3c shot but it involves a lot of movement.

3 rials safe or in side from the short rail is a great shot. Swear I seen Mika olay for the leave and drained it in the side lol

2 rails out of a corner, bringing cb long or short, to hide behind balls.

It is a safe that comes up a lot.

Carom billiard balls are 3/16 inch larger and weigh 1.5oz more, than pocket billiard balls.

So, does mastery on a carom billiard table directly translate to better CB control in pocket billiards?

There are more differances then that.

The premise is the same, justs needs some adjustments.

Surely you dont believe all tables with pockets play the same?

Some tables play differant from rail to rail. Such is life.

Well Harold worst was 15 time 3c worlds champ and got bored and picked up pool and beat everyone in Johnston city....then win a snooker championship

That games all about position angle and touch.....The balls are heavy and the table rolls forever....you got to go 3 rails off one ball to hit another, which is always smaller than a pool table pocket.

So it’s a pretty safe bet that it translates to a top notch addition to one bag of tricks for pool

I've never played 3-C, but my guess is that the skills involved in 3-C that most likely come up in 9-ball / 10-ball are referring to safety play - specifically when you are trying to feather the CB off the edge of the OB with outside english, and running the CB around 3 rails to other end of the table, and hopefully ending up behind another OB.

3 cushion requires precise travel of the cue ball
not just
i put the cue ball "over there"
so it helps not only in safety play but kicking out of a safety and for position play
it also may offer position tracks that are not readily apparent to the average pool player

They don’t even have Willie Hoppe on there so I’d take that list of you found and burn it to be perfectly honest.

Right the union mondial de billiard didn't recognize an American billiard player that probably didn't compete on the world level

I guess Raymond didn't win it 23 yrs , a consecutive decade and another 7 consecutively
