Of the three which one would you choose and why
1-Joss Sneaky
2-Meucci Sneaky
3-Pechauer Sneaky
4-McDermott Sneaky
These are all current models not the older ones. Thanks. Mike

Get a custom made sneaky. Not a factory made. Radial pin, wood to wood, or phenolic joint. Pick your own woods. Make it your own. Here's one I'm currently having made.
Curly Pyinma and Ebony.

Sorry to add another, bu I suggest a pat diveney sneaky.

Pat makes great cues and I a fine dude, to boot.

Thanks for the suggestions. How much do the Diveney cues run. I looked on eBay and could not find any. Trying to stay in the $250.00 range. Thanks again for all the input

I would suggest you contact pat directly...been a while since I spoke with the man.

I'd provide a link, but posting from phone.

of the ones you mentioned, joss and pechauer would be my choices.

bb has steered you right with his advice to consider a diveney. a number of top Filipino players sure like pat's cues.

self-serving alert: if you are looking for a true sneaky (wood to wood - no collars or butt cap) I have the following very old Brunswick conversion in like-new condition with a big pin, old westinghouse micarta ferrule, and a milkdud tip, perfect balance, hot-rodded to play just right.. :)

the wood in this particular cue is the nicest I have seen in a Brunswick cue - it's an orangey-pink hued sapelle mahogany with extra tight grain. l had an old school brown bumper put on to compliment it.

looks like a new house cue, plays a few hundred times better.

could do $320 shipped if interested.

this cue, a diveney, joss or pechauer, all good choices, imo.

and there's one final maker I would look out for though his cues don't come up often and I'm not sure if he still takes orders. That would be L'il Al Romero out in Cal. His sneakies play fantastic.

gl,

best,
brian kc

In my experience, the Joss is very, very stiff hitting. Ok if you like that hit. Have no idea about what the Meucci and McDermott are like these days.
Based on my past experience, I'd go with the Pechauer, without a doubt. If you can get a sneaky pete custom made in your price range, go with it. Check the "for sale" section of the forum, also.

Of your list, Joss. For that price range, I'd also look at the OB. If you like an LD Shaft, you get the OB cue with the LD Shaft. I'd get it before Joss but only because I prefer the LD Shaft.

Diveney makes an excellent SP but not likely to find one for $250.

From your list I would go with Joss or Pechauer if I had to choose.

For $250.00 I would contact Al Romero at Hard Times and get one. He's getting older but I have a couple of his sneaks (Super sneaky with no collars and a regular sneaky with collars.) He has a bunch of blanks that you can choose from as well.

And the final choice becomes clearer. Bet he's glad he asked!!

But seriously, I think you should strive to find a cue that responds to your input the way you think one should, and your choices can't all be the one.

Start buying, give one a chance for a while and as they sAy...good luck!!
