Which state has the best shooters?

I don't know who has the best concentration of good players but I am living in Michigan now and when I leave for someplace else I don't stop until I cross the Ohio River. I don't play good enough to get out of Michigan or Ohio so I just skip 'em both. It is common phrase that "if you can get through Ohio, you play good."

Let's see...CR BILLIARDS, Jimmy Wetches pool hall, university Billiards, biffs, ...just to name a few...all within 10 min of each other...;) all in ONE SUBURB of mpls. All with at least 20-30 tables each.

They are all actually in different cities. Just got to bust your balls a little. You are right though, they are all fairly close to each other. That area of the northern suburbs has a lot of options, but that makes up for the other areas of the cities with nothing.

Uh, how about Missouri? I know a couple of good players from there.
Other than pool we have Brad Pitt, John Goodman, Cathline Turner, Don Johnson, Vincen Price, Phyllis Diller, Christina Applegate, cashew chicken, and me.

aaahhh you're afraid of Ice..... well that's ok some people just don't have the stones for life in the north..

I gotta go .. my 5 year old keeps hounding me to take the snowmobiles out tonight..

Don't know about the ice but I do know 8onthebreak is a helluva player

If you ever make it out to Los Angeles on your road trip, make a stop at Hard Times. On any given day or night, you may run into a guy that used to go by the name of Cesar Morales. If he's not there, you'll get action from someone. HT is a must for any pool junkie.

Ernesto and Oscar Dominguez, Jose Parica, and Sal Butera also call Southern California home. Of course, these are pro's, but there are also plenty of unknowns that can run some racks around here too.

Thanks for info guys

I appreciate all the info. I don't gamble, but I will try my luck in some tournaments. aces805, I have watched the "Morales guy" play. The only way I could ever beat him, is if I had the break in 8 or 9 ball and ran the table. Tramp Steamer, except for John Goodman and Phyllis Diller the others are a reason to stay out of Missouri, LOL. I also think Missouri had the James and Younger gang, Dalton gang, and isn't that where the Hell's Angels got their start? I am sure every place I stop at will have good players. I am looking forward to it.

It's Nevada. After all, every one of the bonus ball players is living there for the moment.

Oklahoma has quite a few great players...so, I think they should be listed.

I've played all over the U.S. and Europe...North Carolina has always impressed me the most. NY and CA are good, too, but there just seems to be a higher concentration of A level players and beyond in NC. Cost of living is better there, too.
The Carolinas are loaded with great players.

Let me throw Texas in there. After all this is where SVB came and got beat by a league player lol

I have to agree, you can get all the action you want around Texas. Not so much in Austin but Dallas, Houston etc., you will find what youre looking for.

The Carolinas are loaded with great players.

The Carolinas was sure where the most action was in the 80's, and now I guess it would be Lousiana and Texas. Since I have been back playing I have seen more action at Harolds place in Tuscaloosa, Al then anywhere I've been. Seen alot of 500 a game and 1000 to 5000 sets played there. Harold is also a super nice guy to gamble with, and he doesn't have to have the nutts to play, so, if your in the area he will make a very fair game with anyone. Its also no smoking.
