It was a well constructed cue that played great. I think most of his cues are a bit thinner in the handle which is exactly how I like a cue. I think he builds a great cue and the price point is more than fair.

I have had 3 Whisler cues over the years, and they all have played great. If my memory is correct, top AZ player Glenn Bond plays with one. I have considered ordering one of his fullsplice cues, just have a few things higher on the priority list. Scotts points are always sharp, at least from what I have seen. His Cues
I had one, sold it on eBay for a lot less than what I would've paid for it had I paid what he asks to build a cue. His cue didn't hit much better than a production cue. It had a clanky vibration, and oddly seemed to get more whip over the course of the year I played with it. There are a lot of people in AZ crazy about his cues, but I personally am not a fan. I think a basic Josey for about $275 hits about 3 times better than a Whisler. The feedback and stiffness on a Josey is awesome for the price. A Whisler, in my opinion, isn't worth it because of the hit. I took the cue to Scott to have the weight changed because it felt like it had loose parts in the handle, and it was too light, and he didn't want to fix it without charging me. In my opinion, it was a faulty product, and he never did fix the noise coming out of it. It felt like a trophy rather than an actual piece of equiptment. His cues are beautiful, but I think unless it's a full splice and you've tested it, the hit is questionable.
I also asked him about ordering a full splice and he talked me out of it. Told me his list is over a year, told me the price, which I already knew and had plenty of money for, and essentially blew me off. After he worked on the tips for the shafts, I had a cue that I still wasn't happy with, and some overpriced tips that didn't make the hit much better.
After I sold the cue, I bought an inexpensive old full spliced cue and hit better than I ever did with that Whisler. There is a lot to be said about the feel of a solid hit and the sound of a good cue.

Can't Say Enough Good About Whisler Cues
A few years back, I was a dealer for Whisler Cues and had almost ZERO problems or issues with Scotts cues. If there was, he addressed them promptly.
In one particular instance, it was clear to both of us the the buyer was way, way off base with his issues/complaints but Scott took care of the problem anyway.
They are undervalued in the market and play far better than the dollars that they command.

The buyer wouldn't take it back (not even for $100 off what I bought it for!) but Scott did offer to do whatever he could to make the cue straight. He was very nice and obviously cared about his reputation. I don't know how the cue came to be warped.

Check it out. I know this was a tournament prize at one of the Arizona Tournaments. Also, I think it is the one Fdambi says had a clank and was not happy with. I have been playing with it off and on and I never noticed anything strange or any clank. It doesn't hit near as stiff as my Blevins, but it isn't bad either. I have found no problems with it. It weighs out at a perfect 19.25 with the OB-1 shaft I got with it. I have no complaints. I appreciate the deal fdambi made me. It has a nice leather wrap to boot. Now I gotta go check it out for that clank noise fdambi says it has. Ofh, the one pic shows some weird coloration in between the points. That is a photography fluke.BVal said:

The pics in the links are not the cue that was given to frost at the last stop of the AZ all around. I was looking at that cue and after picking it up for a minute i mentioned to someone standing next to me (Mitch ellerman IIRC) that the handle area from c to d went bigger to smaller to bigger. That cue had no inlays in the points and none in the butt either. It was a nice looking cue though.
