This weekends 9 ball event held at White Diamonds Billiards in Lafayette, LA was unprecedented with a FULL FIELD of 128 for the main event and 55 players played in the mini 9 ball tournament Friday night.

With names tournament regulars such as Gary Abood, Chuck Raulston, Cliff Joyner, Jessie Bowman, David Parker, Joey Grey, Chip Compton, Scotty Townsend just to name of few.

There was a great $5 banks ring game going on (with rail multipier paying) and plenty of heads up action to boot, Gary Abood could be seen for a long many hours playing some one hole 11-3 i believe for 100 and 200 a rack if I'm not mistaken.

The first calcutta totaled 36K and with the entries we sat at 42k as of saturday, with the final thirty two on sunday the final calcutta drew in over 10k to bring the tournament total purse at 52K+ DOLLARS

The outcome?

Saturday night I was talking to Joey Grey (good friend/great guy) and I told him I woke up sweating and laughing after having a dream Friday night that Chip won again, he got second and I got third and the entire room threw their hands up lmfao..........sadly two of the characters in my prophecy did not attain their place. BUT ONE OF THEM SURE DID!!!

Chip "Double Dip" Compton strikes again......and wins the event two times running.

What a player, kids is going to beat the world someday :) and I'm very proud to call him my friend, he has heart, drive, and is a kind/good person and I hope he continues on his chosen path.

I met some new friends, had great conversations, got to show off my banking skills and even turned a few balls into some cash in my pocket, it was a great event and I implore anyone who has never gone to go to the next one.

pics to come later today i have a bunch to put up thanks to my handy new camera :)

got a little story about from a conversation b/t Scotty Townsend and I thats highly interesting........you would be suprised how intelligent many of we pool players are (some think we are just think that many of us are just dropouts and such and you would be mistaken that they are not extremely intelligent), and how all that time alone can generate some great insight.

more to come.....

One guy, won $271 on a single inning of that bank game you talked about. I saw him do it. I don't want to knock his action so I won't mention his name.

Good to hear Chip did well. I know Chip and Joey very casually. Chip just has this mentality, don't want to say zone, he gets into that really sets him apart from others. And of course his hair helps also! It's just really neat to bump into these guys around Okla. City. Usually see them at Chesters. Thanks for the update.

Yea saw that too...........how many did the masked marvel make in a row to do that Joey if you rememer? I know one of them was a sweet 3 railer :)

Some one put me in the event but couldn't be there so it was tight for me to get any action besides cheap crap but i ended turning the $25 i had left in to 200 after everything...........I was nutting up wishing my backer would have been there with more bread as I really wanted to get into that game, as I've been banking the living crap out of the balls as of late.

Me and the illinois crew were playing a little bank pool sunday and some of that prowess showed as I went 5 and out twice and hit 2 two railers, 1 three railer, and I ALMOST (JESUES I WANTED IT) made this sweet little up/down table 2 railer but she sat in the pocket :(

OB on/around the spot w/CB at the short rail banking two rails (L/S) has become my b*tch as of late I hit 5 of them this weekend.

not puffing my chest about my skills just more disappointed that i couldn't be part of that ring game to see how i would fair against some other great bankers as well.... as I've always been a good banker but have been putting alot of work into it for the past 6 months and my multi railers % has gone up a heafty amount, that has definately been showing as you got to see in San Leon at the Caspers event.

I know Joey A, and Joey A Jr. and I had a great laugh.

Joey Grey was playing a match sunday afternoon and was up i think 6-1

his opponent was having a good old time, such a good time infact that he turned to Joey Grey and said

"you want a drink? What ya want? A shot of Arsenic? How about you guys yall want a beer or something?"

LMFAO JOEY, JOEY, JOEY, the opponent and I all laughed our butts off at the killer shot joke.

good times,

Keeb, thx for the awesome pics and yes the event was great (as always). You know I wish you would have told me you wanted to get in that ring game because I cant bank a lick but I got a little bit of cheese and I would have absolutely put you in that game. Oh well at least now you know, maybe next time. Nawlinz Glenn has been doing pretty good at pickin em in the auction as of late Cliff Joyner at Cue Sports and Now DP at White Diamonds things have been good. White Diamonds is the best event ever not to mention Chris (under the table) Miller doing the auction. lmao!!!! You just gotta see this guy in action. Till next time Keeb I am out and talk to you later. Some of the stories you shared with me about Ralffy at the one hole event was good also. Hope to see every one at Cue Sports on April 16 and of course at the next White Diamonds Event.
