Who are the top five players in your state?

CJ Wiley probably the best play in Texas and his not in ur list. ?????

I agree that he and Jeremy Jones are players of equal caliber. But he has given up pool to make some real money in the club business. From what I hear, every year there are fewer and fewer tables in his rooms in Dallas. Good for him -- he realized that this game is nothing but a lot of ego flying around and no money.

The rich guy is Bob Burt, he plays ok Sutterby plays a little better...Phils playing real good ( I think he has beat Mcnally the last 3 times he played him) Tim Murray has disapeared off the planet (AGAIN) and Raph plays real good too (killer stroke) he can really muscle the cue up pretty good. He made a shot on me last night that brought tears to my eyes but I still won, I whooped his but ( all he had to give me was the 5 7 breaks an 2 on the wire in a race to 5...that's all

El Nino,
Send me a private message and let me know who you are.

I forgot to mention that I played John McCormick in Pittsburgh -- but that knit m*****f***** stuck me. Raph will only get up to play if the stars align. Phil, Mike, and Bob B. are nice guys.

I know who El is, but i didn't know who you were till right now.
Raph will gladly make an exception to the stars alignment if that is what you wish. Bring however much money you would like and he will play you in ANY GAME for it. If your gonna go off about McCormick, i know the TRUTH about what happened when you 2 played, so don't come off like your a saint.

show up and any of the players in there...will gladly empty your pockets for you.
Tim doesn't even play anymore. and for that matter...Raphael doesn't either. He plays like once every week or so. If I remember correctly. The LAST time you were in, Raph specifically asked you to play, and you declined because you were there to get a lesson from GRADY. During which HE LEFT....so don't go busting on people when it is YOU who have declined.
Didn't Raph beat Eddie A. LAST WED night in the finals of the tournament they had?
When i see you get up there and not cry for some out of line game next time your in....i'll be convinced that you want to play, and not steal.
You ask Phil, Raph, Tim, Or Bob Maidhof to play and they will. Just it would be nice if you aren't on your way to somewhere else and stopping by.
Hang out for a while...maybe a few days...and play some.

Just to name a few....but there are alot of players in toronto that can shoot, and make a run for money

Pagulayan(obviously)
Raymond Cruz
Jeff White
Paul Thornley
Chris Wood
and I guesse Cliff Thorburn.

I think your name is Glen. The shot that made you cry is that ridiculous 5 ball he chopped down the rail on some crazy angle. I actually got my screen name fron HIS HAT. It says superstar on it.

Yes I am Glenn and why didn't you tell me who you are...I'm guessing you're Raph and that 5 ball down the rail reyes isn't favored to make and he/you just fired it in like it was easy...I was winning 4 to 0 at that point and when that 5 ball went I didn't feel like the favorite anymore

in Colorado:

Here's the recognizable names - Danny Medina, Laura Smith, Melissa Little, Megan Minerich, Scott Tollefson, Tony Piazza.....

Hey Syn,

What happened to Chris Orme? When Joe Lawrence is sober, he plays a mean game. Is Dave Thompson near the top? There were a couple of Native Canadians from just west of Toronto that played jam up nine ball. I think one guys name was Clyde?

Young Jason Miller from Dayton won the banks division at Derby. So you need to give him a nod as an up-and-comer.

Also Joe Brown from Dayton plays pretty strong.

Howdy wally,

Jason miller has been around the seen for nearly 10 years. He is not a spring chicken. Cheers

The list of good players in Colorado goes on and on and on. The front range ( from Pueblo to Ft. Collins) just has incredible pool players. :)

Matthew, a 50 zip is a league term. In league play you get 10 points for winning a game of 8-ball. It's alternate break so the most you can break out of 5 games is 3 times. If you leave your opponent with 7 balls on the table, he gets 0 points. Only 2 people have accomplished the 50 zip since Valley started the VNEA leagues. It's hard to break 3 times and only make a stripe or a solid, and then your opponent must not make a ball on his break. Hope this helps. Sam

I know that Cliff is originally from NC, but in the past two years I've been to Houston four times, and I've seen Cliff there each time -- at Bogies, at Legends, and at the Fast Eddie's right off the Gulf Freeway (a tournament).

I think that Denis is a very good gambler, but I don't think that you can call him one of the top 5 players in all of Texas. I saw him lose a bunch of money a year ago to Ronnie Allen giving Ronnie 9-8, and Ronnie is well over the hill.

Who is the Houston kid?

Denis is a car salesman as well, but I dont think from Beaumont. Denis has beaten everyone, JJ, Archer, the list goes on. He deserves to be up there, he can play, especially when hes sober ! The houston kid is a guy thats around 21 or 22 I believe, he will DEFINANTLY be a star in a few years.

State of Texas
1) Jeremy Jones
2) Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant
3) Al Mason
4) Denis Strickland
5) "Houston Kid"

P.S. Cliff Joyner doesn't live in TX
Do you even live in Texas? Cliff lives about 5 minutes from Bogie's on 1960.

Did I miss a post or was Earl Strickland not mentioned from NC. I can't believe he wouldn't be top five if not number one.

Honestly I'm not sure.....i hardly play anymore, these were just based on local tournaments i've seen here and there......Marrio Morra went down a notch, i don't think he's as good as he was before.

I think he is talking about Butter. No offense to Butter's skills, b/c he can dab 'em pretty good, but it sounds like the one pocket king is living in his own little kingdom, and it has four padded white walls and no windows.
