Who are your top picks for billiard promoters?

A top pick meaning the company you think will last longer than 5 years, avoid a major scandal and change the way billiards is promoted. Name existing and operating companies only.

Depending what you mean by major scandal (this is pool after all)

In no particular order:

CSI
Matchroom
Greg Sullivan
Barry Behrman
Dragon

And an honorable mention to TAR for their Challenge matches. They could be cracking the list in no time.

CSI will be around for ever.

Now I know you said current, however, (and I believe more importantly), we will see some new billiard promoters in the next five years that will be very successful. These new promoters will take all the things they love about this game and put their own twist on it.

For example, we have someone in our area that I would consider a major promoter in the future because he is making huge impacts on the Northwest pool scene. Andrew Purdy has recently started a transition from strictly playing pool to putting on tournaments for the pool players within Island and Skagit counties.

While anyone can put on a tournament for 32+ players, Andrew has found a way to put on an outstanding tournament for all skill levels and still make it competitive. His tournaments are now being sponsored by several major cue makers, giving an opportunity for us to try out cues we would never have the chance to use unless we buy them outright (our closest pool hall is two and a half hours away). He is also working on getting all future events streamed to further promote the sport.

Wow, let me just say thank you for the kind words.

We all have goals in life and one day I do hope that I can be mentioned in the same sentence with Mark Griffin, RandyG, Jay Helfert, and others, but right now I am a small fish in their pond.
So with that being said, let me get a strong foundation for the Island and Skagit County area and then let's see what we can accomplish in the future.

Again, thank you and Thank you AZ members for all the great information and help that allows me to promote the game in the best way possible.

Andrew Purdy

CSI

Barry Behrman

Jay Helfert
