I haven't seen Jimmy Reid play lately, missing him at the Open by minutes, as he had to head back home because of Isabel.

From what I have been reading, Little John is in deep doo-doo with his peers and may have some mental monsters to deal with.

Bobby Pickle is certainly a veteran and has a good chance.

Jamie Farrell may have the home-team advantage, with his banking capabilities.

Hennessee is conditioned, always on the road, playing in any tournament or action game he can muster. He's my second choice.

But I voted for the Kid Delicious. He's playing well these days, on the road, in tournaments, and he knows how to move on strange equipment.

Hope to see who the other two choices are. Keep us posted, Hemicudas. This sounds like GREAT entertainment as well as action.

Buster Merchant

You never know who the other two invitations are to. Soooooo, one of them might be to Buster?

Throw Scott Frost and Keith on the final two spots, get accustats to tape it, and I will buy it no matter how long or what the price is. Those two would make this one heck of a sight to see and make the outcome a little less easy to guess. I voted Kid Delicious as it stands right now, he is playing well of late and is the best in long gambling sessions as of right now. Keith and Frost would be another couple that are tough to wear down and would end alot of streaks and run afew of their own.

Celtic, you never know who the other two will be AND the match is being taped and will be available.......$Bill

P.S. Manlyshot, remind me to take you to the track with me next time. You handycap pretty well.

Ring-Game is Progressive

In handicapping the match ya'll need to remember that the game is progressive. The games start at 50 and increase every twenty games through the first 100 games to 1,000 per game. At game 101, if there is still more than one player left standing, they play All-In for the next 20 games. So a marathon it won't be. At the maximum they will play 120 games of 10-ball on a four and a half by nine Diamond. More details about the Ring-Game Tournament are given on the Southern Billiards discussion board under the Tournament forum. The board can be access from the main page of the web site at http://SouthernBilliards.com

All in.

What all in means is, what ever you have left in your account. No money will be passed. The Professor has written a computer program for this occasion. It is similar to the Poker tournaments in that you can go "All In". Except here, after 100 games you are "ALL IN". Meaning you have to play for what ever you have in your account. The board the Professor has created will look like this.

Is Reed Pierce still based out of Jackson, Mississippi? Would he be a good candidate for the Professor's ring game??

Would Schmidt be a possibility?

Bobby Pickle is probablly the most seasoned. I have seen or played most of these guys and I feel that he plays a touch better under the pressure.

yes reed still lives in mississippi and i think he's a horrible candidate for something like this...all he does is bitch and whine and stalls more than a dead man...and if he did come the game probably wouldn't even happen because he'd find someway to knock the professor's idea...john schmidt on the other hand would be a great addition i think ...and by the way hennesse is gonna snap the ring game and tournament off

What about Larry Price? Has anyone seen him lately. He usually plays at tournaments with the players above. I havent seen him since I played him at the Campbellsville tournament about a year ago. If he were to play I would definately make him the favorite.

Just wanted to throw Pierce's name out there since he isn't that far from Starkville.

The two remaining slots could be nicely filled in with the likes of Tony Watson or Eric Durbin, forcing me to reconsider all eight choices.

Are jump cues allowed?

Professor, sounds like you've got an exciting ring game going. Wish I could be there, and I wish them all the best of luck.

Actually, I'd like to see Jimmy Reid win, but I believe the guy who is hitting the balls the best right now is Danny. The game should be an interesting match-up because you've got all scrappers in there, meaning a lot of die-hards. So let the best player win! If you decide to have another ring game, let me know if you need an extra player because I will surely try to be there.

I'm sure we all wish you could have made it to this Ring Game Keith but the Professor has allready sceduled the 2nd Ring Game for the spring and you would be an asset in any type of tournament. So I hope you can make it to the one in the spring. This one is going to be tremendous.........$Bill

Looking for Eric

Keith and $Bill, thanks for the favorable comments.

There is one player that we had wanted to invite to the Ring-Game Tournament and that is Eric Durbin.

I realize it is short notice, but if any of you know how to contact Eric, please have him get in touch with me. Or if there are any of you out there that want to put Eric in the Ring-Game and know how to reach him, just let me know.

I can be reached at Professor@SouthernBilliards.com or 662-324-7665
