My name is Tommy Welborn and I'm from Cornelia, Ga. The "Clown" Schmidt got mad at me for posting that him and his associates in Mobile tried to dump to us one time. It was in a discussion about poolplayers that have or will dump. We had a run in at last years UPA tourney in Athens, where there were several people there that witnessed in person his attempt to dump to us using other backers' money. Long story short, he called me out in front of everyone and said he didn't appreciate me posting that. Even shorter story, I stood up and punked him out in front of every great pool player in the country. That being said, I think he is a treacherous clown and if he wants to argue otherwise then I can always be found.

pit him against all the legends in a "color of money" type of match
and without a doubt he'll beat em all.
 
Greatest pool player, not greatest straight pool player or 9-ball player. With that criteria, I don't see how anyone but Efren qualifies. Best 1-pocket player now (and maybe ever), best 8-ball player now (maybe ever), one of the best 9-ball players ever (I'm basing that more on $ games than tournements - I put more stock in great $ players than great tournement players, personally), best rotation player (an underrated game, IMO), great straight pool player (no telling how good he would have become if the $ was in straight pool), great billiards player, great bank pool player (I lost $100 at the 2004 DCC bettting on Shannon Daulton vs Efren in banks - the LAST time I'll ever bet against Efren in anything). Give him a week and he could probably be the world bumper pool champ, or whatever has felt and balls. I can't say this authoritatively, but a longtime Hard Times Billiards hanger told me that Efren had no intention of winning most tournements he entered, he wanted the side action $, so I think basing any comparisons on tournement results is probably flawed in his case. I also think Efren has a gear that he only uses when the situation calls for it; man, can he turn on the heat when he needs to. Ask yourself one question: if you had to bet all your money on anyone in history for a multi-game freezeout, who would you take? If you take anyone but Efren.....you lose.
 
I've seen Alex the lion and Duell pull off some fantastic shots on tv but I saw Mosconi play on tv and he DIDN"T HAVE TO PLAY ANY FANTASTIC SHOTS (the man was always in position). But I believe Mosconi said Greenleaf was the best he saw so??????

In my opinion, the best players always keep their run out very simple. It will look as if anyone could have done it given the same lay out. Even when they have to make a tough shot or a shot which would require very precise cue ball control, they would make it look so effortless.

I enjoy watching Rodney. I am not sure if he is the greatest, but he is so smooth and he makes everything look so easy he has to be one of the most enjoyable to watch.

Larry is another guy who looks like he is not even trying as he makes the most amazing shots. I suspect he can make shots which no one else could make but there is no way to proof that.

I read that in the UK, they used to say Steve Davis was very boring to watch because he was so perfect. I felt that way once when I was watching Jose play. He made all his run out so simple, almost all the shots he made were very easy shots as he never got out of position.

For the women, I think Allison is the greatest not because of her potting power but because of her cue ball control and how much she has simplified her run out.

Although, as your formula validates, 147 is generally considered the measure of perfection in snooker, a break of 155 is possible as a "free ball" situation can create a sixteenth red.
 
Willie M. 526 ball run on an 8ft. No one has beat that, Yet, even on an 8 footer. imo. ;)

In my opinion, he's the best pool player of all time. He's the only player I really enjoy watching, winning or losing.

Of course we knew that but the guy claiming to have made the 157 didn't have a clue. If he'd really made a 147, he'd never be confused about the number.

Funny thing is he was about a C grade pool player who could hardly run 3 balls and he was dead serious about the 157 and expected us to believe him.

It is stunning how delusional and/or dishonest some people can be.

Have to run, my harem of beauties needs attending to:rolleyes: :D
