I am very surprised nobody has mentioned Bob Runde in this thread yet! I knew him when he used to be one of the partners that started Schon cues. The cues that I have seen that he has made since he got out of Schon and started making under his own name are incredible. I don't know what kind of joint he came up with, but I have been told by one of the dealers who sells his cues that they did a blind fold test, to see if there was a difference between how his cues and a one piece cue felt when hitting a ball. Result, they felt the same! His veneer work and inlays hold up against anyone elses, anywhere. I have hit balls and played with some of Bob's cues and they are unsurpassed by any other cuemaker, bar none. Just a former Wisconsinite's humble opinion!!!

That can even go under a new thread topic. Bob Runde (right along with Bill McDaniel) is IMO one of the MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED LIVING CUEMAKERS. I know what you mean. Bob's work is and has always been absolutely wonderful.
