Who Does the Best Veneer Points?

I had always wondered what caused me to see veneer points on a pool cue as beautiful and while I was visiting my mom today I think I know the reason. The women in my family from my mom to my great-aunt love to pick and collect Lake Superior agates. For those who don't know an agate looks like this:

I picked up this hobby when I was around 8 or 9 years old and have since developed an eye for spotting these designs on the beach among the millions of other rocks that hide them. So, to me, veneer points are beautiful on cues.

Now, on my bucketlist of things to get done in the not so distant future is to get a veneer point cue done. Are there any cue makers that could do veneer points that are wild and colorful like the patterns of agates?

P.S. If any of you have veneer point cues, please share them. They are beautiful!

Zirroe. Eddie cohen cues

You might call up or text Eddie cohen. He is zirroe here on the forum. He does some amazing veneers and very colorful if that is what is ordered. Look in the cue and case gallery for some of his work. Makes a great playing cue and gorgeous to boot

Not a builder recommendation, but I think the materials that are going to come closest to the agate look is either mother-of-pearl or green abalone. You can get sizable pieces from guitar parts companies such as http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Inlay_and_Pearl/Blanks/Pearl_and_Abalone_Inlay_Blanks_1oz_Pack.html and http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Inlay_and_Pearl/Blanks/Abalam_Inlay_Blank.html

However you can't get them in the depth that's commonly used for points and veneers pre-turning. They'd have to be done as an inlay after 90% of the turning is done.

Well of course grant...however I think he was looking to get a cue made and I am not sure randy is taking orders right now...but if I could pick from three or four makers I would start with Dennis, randy,tw,and Haley...

Those rocks are fantastic!

From what I read here, Searing is the best. He does seamless like every one else does mitered.

Mike Bender.... I have tons of his cues over the years and all his points are great.

Skip

It's been said here before and it's true, Skip Weston is about as good as they get
but I don't think you can get him to build you a cue. Think he works full time and only
makes 4 or 5 cues a year now days. But if you can get one I promise you won't be disappointed.

I saw this guy making cues on YouTube. He's got tons of videos on different steps in creating a custom cue and his veneer points jumped out at me immediately.

Didn't he do recuts instead of veneers?
