Hi Gunn S.

I don't think it is so much that someone dropped out, but that they never got their contract signed and back in in time. I can't even imagine who it is, but like I said, I hope it's not me and my husband. lol

Guess we have to go up to the website and do a process of elimination before we figure out who it is.

Take care,
Linda

From the original 150, I did a comparison and figured out who the 8 were that were dropped or voluntarily dropped off. The newest 9th and 10th members to be dropped have not been removed from the list yet, but will be easily spotted. I have put Google search links by these names.

Drum roll..

1. Ibrahim bin Amir - Malaysia

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Ibrahim+bin+Amir+billiards&btnG=Google+Search

2. Brian Blyzes - USA Not much info on Brian. Anyone know him or where he's from?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Brian+Blyzes+billiards

3. Sheng Lin - Young Taiwan

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Sheng+Lin+billiards&btnG=Search

4. Steve Lipsky - USA

Already know about Steve

5. Suhana Dewi Sabtu - not sure what countries the rest are from - my printer cut off the right edge of the printout. Looks like another Malaysian.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Suhana+Sabtu+billiards&btnG=Search

6. Denny Thung - Another Malaysian, India, or Vietnamese?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Denny+Thung+billiards&btnG=Search

7. Kwan Suet Yee - Malaysia Uh oh, I'm seeing a pattern here!

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Kwan+Suet+Yee+billiards

8. Ooi Fook Yuen - You guessed it, Malaysia

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Ooi+Fook+Yuen+billiards&btnG=Search

I guess their team couldn't make it. That is too bad.

glen couts, new zealand, apparantly never received contract:(

If he was at the meeting, he should have received one. And that was one of the reasons it was mandatory, unless he had prior arrangements with KT or Deno?

I have to wonder if the Malaysian players were affected by the APBU's position. I believe at least a couple of them play on the San Miguel Asian 9-Ball Tour which is sanctioned by the APBU.

I know Brian real well.

Hi watchez,

Can you elaborate? Does he have any titles? Does he play league? If so, what is his rating? Has he won tournaments and what is his background in 8ball? That should be enough to get me started. lol.

Also, do you know why he didn't remain in the IPT? Was it by choice? What city is he from? Do you have a picture? How long has he been playing? Ok, I was wrong, that wasn't enough questions before. :D Thanks!

If you go to the IPT website and look under players you will see a list of the players. Compare it to the original list and you will see who is out.

Santos Sambajon is out.

Nice to see that it is up to date. Miller and Alex are listed already.

Tell me your background & then I'll tell you about Blyzes background.

OK, here it is. Btw, I just took 13th last weekend in an open tournament with 78 players - after losing my first match.

Tours in the past: WPBA, McDermott, Dufferin, Pechauer, Association for Cuesports for Women (ACW, the tour I started), WWWRT (Northern CA Regional Tour), Southern CA Regional Tour. Also, BCA (was designated Grand Master status, but got demoted to Master after whining - lol, APA 8-ball as a 7, VNEA, TAP leagues (got booted off the TAP league for being a pro, even though I never was.)

Tournaments won: Too many local ones to list. In pro tournaments, I have beaten Loree Jon Jones, Monica Webb (twice), Nicole Mancini, Nesli O'Hare, Darlene Stinson, Candi Rego, Kathi MacDonald, Jeannie Seaver, Stephanie Boch, and others. Was 7-7 with Sarah Ellerby until I miscued. My highest finish at a pro tournament was 13th and ranking of 37th. I played the pro tournament (and all the other tours and leagues) with a full-time job and 2 kids raising them as a single mom. I have never not worked fulltime. (There are only 14 mothers in the top 64 women at last count, and none of them had to depend solely on their income to support them, or care for them! Most of them did not have jobs, or if they did, it was in a poolroom.) I am an Area Sales Manager for a national medical imaging company and my territory is WA, MT, and AK. In addition, I am currently going back to school at nights for my MBA in Healthcare Administration.

I have won or been in the finals of lots of tournaments on regional tours, including one on the S. Calif, tour and one on the Northern Calif. tour. One year I won 7 major NW tournaments, plus numerous open weekly tournaments. When I say NW, I mean WA, OR, ID, CO, and western Canada. They had one weekly tournament here for women and I won all 10 weeks I went, plus the Championship at the end. I beat Maureen Seto from CN to get to the Finals of our State Championship.

I have won lots of Scotch Doubles tournaments with different partners - My husband Mike Zimmerman, Barry Emerson, Rich Geiler, Scott Chandler, Raul Abenojar. (I won 3 different SD tournaments with 3 different partners on 3 consecutive weekends!)

I won a tournament at the 211, beating then 19th-ranked Kerry Hartsfield and 3-time Amateur National Champion, Kimberly Kirk to win it.

I have been on the Ross Schaffer Show twice, and a local news team and camera crew followed me to the LA Open one year. I drew Cornbread Red and broke and ran the first game and hung the 7 on the 2nd game. From there on out I was kicking.

Additional info: I have played in the Reno tournament a few times, have played in the Bar Table Championships where I beat Monica Webb, and was hill-hill with Ming Ng. Have placed 2nd in the VNEA international championships, played in World's in Quebec, CN a few years ago. Highest ranking was 37th on the pro tour, while holding down a full time job (not pool related) and a mother of 2.

I broke and ran 6 consecutive games of 8 ball on an 8 footer. I am on the VNEA All Star team. I am sponsored by Viking Cues and Talisman Billiards and have a bio page on their websites. (http://www.talismanbilliards.com/LIndaCarter.asp), (http://www.vikingcue.com/pages/promos/players/ambassadors.html)
Here's my bio on AZ Billiards: http://www.azbilliards.com/thepros/2000showplayer2002.cfm?playernum=1474

I am ok looking for an old broad, and try to bring a polished look to the table. I am very ethical in all my dealings and really try to give back to the sport by running tournaments and teaching. I started the NW women's tour here and had the most 9 ball breaks and table runs, as well as holding the #1 spot. I hold the 9 ball break record of 4 in one night during a tournament at the Cadillac Island Casino in Longview, WA. I am the only female in the NW that enters Open tournaments, both major and weekly, on a regular basis. I have won quite a lot or placed in the weekly ones, and have placed in the weekend ones. I flew to a JOB tournament in TN and placed 4th.

I was the first female house pro for Jillian's in Seattle. My picture has been in Pool and Billiard and Billiards Digest. I helped Jeanette Lee make her commercial for Virtual Pool 3, as an advisor and in the audience shots.

There's more but you are probably snoring by now. :D

OK, I showed you mine, now you show me yours. lol

Brian Blyzes is now probably a B+/A- player from St. Louis MO. At one time, he was a solid 'A' player. Brian doesn't hold any major titles, state or otherwise. His biggest tournament win is probably the Coca-Cola Classic they have in St Louis every Thanksgiving weekend. 120 players and if you win you cannot enter again. Also, no AA players allowed in this tournament. Past winners of this tournament include Donnie Bronson (from Chicago), Chuck Ralston, Justin Bergman, Lars Vardamn. The tournament does not damn you if you improve your speed over the years. If you were eligible to play 5 years ago and maybe a 'B' player & now improved to AA status you can still play in the tournment until you win. Anyways, gettingn back to Brian & the IPT--Brian has a real pretty 'slip-stroke' and is a solid player. I saw Brian a few weeks ago & asked him why he removed himself from the IPT. Basically, it came down to finances as he couldn't do what Trudeau was asking of the non participants of the KOH tournament. I guess not everyone is fortunate to have a job they can leave for a week and then spend travel expenses along with a new wardrobe on the hope that it will lead to something bigger. Brian is probably 30 now and in his younger years I would have thought of him as a very promising player. Bob Dickerson who was a top road player for years (husband of ChristyD that posts here) also thought so & took Brian out on the road about 10 years ago. I think they had a falling out of some kind & that was the end of Brian's road career.
Maybe Linda, after you make your millions on the IPT, you can come to St. Louis & play Brian some to give back what might have been his.

I know you feel sorry for your friend, and so do I. There are tons of deserving players out there. Even if he could rob me, there has to be something said for the way KT picked some of us grizzled veterans. I have put more years into pool than Brian has been on this earth. I have also given back to the sport by promoting. However unentitled I am, I wish him the best and maybe I will get out that way and let him win some of the THOUSANDS I win from the IPT. I respect his decision to do what he has to do and thanks for satisfying everyone's curiosity.

You know - sometimes when I just think I might get to like you, you go and make some dumbass statement like this.

Brian had the the same chance that Linda has. He could have stayed on the IPT and found a way to make it work IF he really wanted to. People overcome far more daunting circumstances every day.

Brian can come to Charlotte right NOW and play Kelly Fisher, who is on the IPT and try and win whatever he can scrape together for a stake. OR if you will find a way to get the money posted we will come to St. Louis and let Kelly play Brian. Now before you get your boxers twisted about Kelly can play Justin, or Chuck you just remember that you are BARKING at Linda because you somehow think that Brian has the NUTS and that Linda's inclusion in the IPT is somehow an affront to Brian. Well I think that Kelly Fisher has the nuts playing Brian DEAD EVEN and I bet that NO ONE in AMERICA will put up any signifigant amount of money to back Brian's side of this.

Linda has provided you with an impressive resume' which includes the fact that she has managed to achieve career success alongside her pool accomplishments. Perhaps that is what Kevin saw in her application.

The requirements for the King of the Hill tournament were well known for at least a month in advance. Would you be willing to bet me that I can go and find work enough to fund a trip to Orlando for a week with a month's notice? Good looking clothing is available at any Salvation Army for less than $50. Stop with the bullshit, please. Brian applied and was accepted. Maybe he thought that it would just be gravy from there, I don't know. I can tell you this with a fair degree of certainty. If there were any people who thought Brian could cut it on the IPT then they would have been clamoring to back him. Obviously you didn't think so or you would have helped him get there.

John, I understand in some twisted way you are trying to put watchez in his place, but I hope you realize all you are doing is making disparaging comments about Brian and his game.

I don't know Brian, but he isn't even on this forum. He quietly withdrew his name. You should not be trying to embarrass him, even if you think you are doing it to embarrass watchez.

Just my take on this...

- Steve
