who has the hardest break?

I wouldn't say any of those guys have the hardest break. Pagulayan and Bustamante can control the cueball very good though.

Nevel, Breedlove, Bryant have very hard breaks.

None of them break as hard as I do though.:D

Francisco Bustamante and Alex Pagulayan (pound for pound) the strongest breakers you will ever see. For the ladies, Tiffany Nelson hits them hardest, but I believe Jennifer Chen has the most control combined with power. None of the people I just mentioned weighs more than 120-130 pounds. That should tell you something.

I heard Wu has the hardest break, but you can't believe everything that you hear. However, Mnshooter has the hardest break I have ever seen! :p

Jon Kucharo breaks harder than anyone on the planet. I should add that he only does that when he wants to. Before he quit playing (I know he's back again) often you would only see him breaking around 70%, because that's all that was necessary. Ask Grady what he thinks of Kucharo's break at top speed.

Wu has the hardest break with consistent control that I've ever seen. Bustamante and a few others break harder but with less control.

Bustamante is IMO has the most copied power break style I can think of. You can find an Adobe .pdf file of his break and how executes it somewhere if you really what to see a breakdown fo the mechanics.

There was one 16 year old from Taiwan( I didn't think it was Wu, but I could be wrong), that I heard was breaking in the middle 40's. People who knew him said he could hit them harder, like low 50's, but he wanted to control the cue ball. this sounds unbelievable, but that's what I heard somewhere. I might had heard it here. Anyone else hear a similar story, or am I just a nutcase. By the way, I agree that Kucharo does have a monster break.

i do!! ;) i played "earl" a few years ago in st. charles ill. at the u.s. open and when i broke i heard him mutter something like "Bustamante has nothin' on that". it was confirmed by keith josey who was watching us and that was cool. i always knew i had a powerful break but i hadn't played serious for a while and was a little out of touch about other payers. that game was a bust even though i made 3 balls on the break. had a tough cut made it and lost position and a few shots later lost that game, oh well i'll take the "break" compliment anyway. :)

That was a mistake-The Taiwanese kid had a break 42 KPH which converts to only 28 MPH or so.

Grady says Kucharos break makes Busta's look like a house wifes,

hardest breakers: no order
Kucharo
Francisco b.
Jamie Baraks-he breaks alot harder than nevel.

As far as Making a ball on the break, cueball control, getting a shot after the break, and power combined Johnny Archer no question.

Thanks for the input Nostroke. I knew it sounded a little off.

I usta say Archer, Bustamante or Alex P had the hardest break but two weeks ago I was watching a Mosconi match with Shannon D/ Charlie W against Thorston and Neils.

Shannon gets up to break and just crushes the rack so hard that he makes the 9ball on the snap and they had to do slow down the tape to see what ball kicked in the 9ball cuz it happend so fast.

And seriously Shannons break was unbelieve-able as far as power and cb control.

Last time that Shannon was in the Mosconi cup was:
2000 USA 12 - 9 Europe ( York Hall, Bethnal Green )

Steve Knight (UK), Mika Immonen (Finland), Ralf Souquet (Germany), Thomas Engert (Germany), Marcus Chamat (Sweden), Steve Davis (UK)

Johnny Archer, Shannon Daulton, Jeremy Jones, Corey Deuel, Earl Strickland, Michael Coltrain

I think you mean Shawn Putnam. He and Charlie Williams were partners recently in the Mosconi Cup.

Danny Harriman weighs in at 155lbs, breaks over 30 MPH and parks whitey center table 85-90% of the time.

Pound for pound, and cue ball control, there aren't many better, if any at all.

Dont believe me? Just ask anyone that witnessed his performance at Pro-Tyme in Orland Park recently (non-Sardo).

With use of the Sardo he told me he will probably cut the power back to 70% due to the pounding of the balls into the cloth, making the head ball act like a ramp on impact. But what does he know right:rolleyes:
