Well, the ebony 'Fire Fly' cue is owned by a forum member here, and I doubt very seriously you're gonna get him to part with it. I would suspect the other cue is owned by perhaps his business partner...but that's just a guess.

Good luck with your quest, tho'. :)

I have owned the Firefly cue for a couple of years, and have had Paul Fanelli make a mate cue, also based on the ebony and same special veneer colors that Paul acquired in Europe. The second cue is different entirely in the butterfly configurations, etc, but just as beautiful.

I also own five other butterfly Fanelli cues in addition to these two. The lot together is stunning. I will put on some pictures if I can get my camera working properly. None are for sale.

Will :) :) :) :o :o :)

butterflys and pts.

Ricky Phillippi is making this style of cue as well. Butterfly and regular. And they are in unbelieveable colors. There was a wood sales man at the hopkins show and all his woods were high pressure treated in the wildest colors. Your cues are very very nice looking. How does a cue of this style hit? Anything else special shaft wood, joint, I'm guessing they will never warp and they are not cored? Just like all the bright lights of the city they could only come from the east coast. I never thought I'd see the day a joss east looked any differen'tly. Thanks for the morning look.

I have somebody who can make those cues as well.I was just wondering how much a cue like this will go for?

Yes, Will got me to surrender the Firefly... it's ok.. Paul told me we would be working on something really cool and I believe he is starting it. One of the reasons Paul is so special is he never is contempt with where he is at with his splicings. If you could really see his new designs, you would see how intricate he is now making them. Plus he is advancing some ring designs and he is doing some special cuts. At the last Hopkins, Schick told him he can now get off the porch and run with the big dogs, but I think we can rephrase that to get out of the cocoon and fly with the Monarchs. :D

I was liking the cues and thought the string of postings was going to be fun. It's really cool the way the AZ community can locate things for folks, it changes that aspect of collecting quite a bit (can you imagine how long it would have taken to locate any real information about these cues in the "old days"? - now 3 posts and there the owner is), making information so quickly available. I should have known that it would have been you owning the ebony. I love those splice shafts, the only cue I have seen like that is a Palmer Ultra Deluxe (I think) and I want one of those.

I'm wondering if you have a Bushka or Szamboti that you might think would be fun and fair in a trade for 2 Bushka's ?, both we would be trading are plainish, 4 points, 4 veneers (maybe 5) and plain butts. I think one is a Szamboti it has Bushka rings above and below the wrap. Both we would be trading were acquired in the same deal as the Gus box cue in the mid 1980s.

Come to think of it, anyone reading interested in this trade? We want a Balabuska or Szamboti with some work and have 2 original Balabuskas to trade for it.

Jeez, Joe...Will must've made you an offer you couldn't refuse...lol. ;) Well, it's a good thing that I was trying to be discreet with the owner's name....as I would have had it all wrong anyways!! :o
