Who is considered the greatest living cueist right now?

Rafael Martinez would have won a lot more if he had ever learned what a safety was and if he could have ever learned to correctly play the percentages.

He had more talent than most and a better stroke than most, but that all offense circus shot game excelled a bit more for entertaining than it did for winning.

great one hole player too. one of the best in shooting jacked up / from the rail, it's like the angle of the cue doesn't make a difference for him

The relevance is Paul is a god among men.... and motivational speaker and that in turn leads to being the greatest cueist past present future. Wait until you see his biopic that he wrote directed and stars in, your mind will be changed then.
you drunk? or just being a troll?

No. I don't think any competition with single players each playing multiple disciplines has ever been done. I don't count events like DCC and Johnston City. There have been a few like snooker/pool with two disciplines.
The Lindrum Masters included 8 ball, 9 ball, snooker and english billiards, I believe it was held twice and won twice by Quinten Hann, there are clips scattered on youtube, Oliver Ortman and Jimmy White were in this event also

Quinten also competed in the short lived IPT, hell of a player

Carom guys really seem to stick to their own, although I do believe pool is a harder game carom imo is so different that that no pool players would have a chance in a mixed event, in other words carom guys would do ok at pool and pool guys would get smoked in carom

If you are talking about balkline, probably true, but I hear plenty of announcers talking about how well a guy does because he plays a bit of 3 cushion.
I've heard it too and while it isn't 100% inaccurate to claim there are advantages to knowing things like ball paths to/ from general areas, striking accuracy on first ball, etc...the equipment and strokes are so different, much of the games' skills are bordering on nontransferrable.

I'd go so far as to say lots of time playing one is likely detrimental to the other...context being top level competitors.

Yes Paul was on ESPN Trick Shot Magic, but he never won the event. He played in many of the organized and sanctioned Artistic Pool events, but never won any of those either. I am not familiar with how Paul played regular pool but he is not spoken of like Mizerak and Rempe and such so he probably wasn't on their level. Again, not taking anything away from what he has done. He has done more than most pool players. He did a lot and was able to make pool a living for a while. But when you do entertainment shows, it is all about how you market yourself. If you market yourself well and have a entertaining show, you can do very well.
Paul Gerni played in a handful of pro tournaments back in the 80's and 90's, with limited success. He may have finished down in the money somewhere, but no where near the top. He is one of the great Exhibition players of all time but that does not translate to overall skills as a pool player.

I'm sure the usual names like Ronnie, Ceulemans, Reyes and Strickland would be mentioned, but is there a generally agreed upon name who the diehard cue fans all deem as the best living cueist? Or are there too many factors across the different cue disciplines to really say who is the greatest?
First you would need to define the metrics, otherwise it is just opinion.
