She came in pretty high? Yeah, right. As if winning the Women's Masters qualifies as a "high finish."hustlefinger said:My good friend Jeannie came in pretty high on an event a few years ago.
Fred <~~~ thinks Rick meant "highest."

Me and my husband, Mike
have you booked already?
Not yet.
where are you staying?
Not sure whether the Riv or a condo yet.
how do you get those preemo rooms, main floor by the pool?
When I stayed with the twins, we got those, but not sure how. Everyone who has worked there some time knows them though, so that is probably how they get them.
are you driving or flying?
Flying
are you going for singles or team event?
I will be playing Singles and scotch only. My husband is playing all 3 events. He will have a good team in the Masters, so I will stay and root them all on. I am going to be their Athletic Supporter!![]()
will there be a az billiards room there?
That would be nice, but doubt it. I do want to meet Scott Lee and Randy G.
has anyone finished high in the events?
I took 2nd in VNEA Nationals 1997 and 3rd? in BCA in Atlantic City 1996, 2nd in speed pool and 2nd in Artistic Pool 2 years ago. Last year, I bombed out, but I usually bring some money home. 2 years, I believe, I got to play in the pro event.
do you watch the pro event?
When I can, if not just to say hi to everyone.
Very true, TheOne. I have posted before of my hatred of the Riviera & it's appearance, customer service, food, tiny size of hotel rooms, location on the strip, and every thing about it besides the pool tables.TheOne said:Going to try Grand Masters (dates better) then VNEA week later, then probably World Summit week later!![]()
I don't think even David Blaine could stay in the Riviera for a month!![]()

its very true.lol.vegas has to have more cabs per capita than any city and you still have to wait in huge lines to get one.lolwatchez said:Very true, TheOne. With the Stardust being blown up, I will be forced to stay at the Riviera this year. It is not worth the hassle of travelling up and down the strip or taking the chance of being late for a match for me to stay at a nicer hotel down the strip. For those that haven't been to Vegas in awhile, I thought I would give you a traffic warning. The strip is now horrendous to try to travel up and down by car or taxi. Friday & Saturday nights are the biggest nightmare but even most times it is not that easy or quick. The taxi lines are the longest at the biggest, most popular hotels so a trick is to walk to a lesser hotel to try and grab a cab.
Last year after my team won (note: I am just the captain, scorekeeper, settler of disputes as my friends play 6 balls better than me), we went from the Riviera to Luxor (length of the strip) for a celebration dinner on that Saturday night & it took 1 hour 45 minutes by car.
I don't think it will be this busy in May, but I had a friend go last weekend during the NBA All Star weekend. He said from the Bellagio to Caesars, it took 1 hour by car!!

Already booked a room at TI, usually we all stay there. One team from Crown last year came in 9th overall (not mine). George Michael played on that team and will play in the pro event this year. Flying Southwest. Not sure how I am getting my cue there yet, though.
