Thanks for the reply...ya I was thinking that "Carsons" was his pool hall (have never been there)...where is gaston? I also knew a guy that worked at his pool hall...or carsons I guess?

Zach
Gaston is right off of i-30 going east.

I haven't heard of Tommy Sanders... but then again I generally only play out of one poolroom (Clicks in Arlington)...

I have seen in this poolhall...

Coy Lee
"Fat" Ralph
Erman
Robert Newkirk (oddly absent from this list)
Joe Salazar
Joey Barnes (considered to be a very good player)
"Little" Al

...among many other very good players...

He gets the 7 and 8 from several here in texas. But he does play good as he robbed me when I first started.

Doesn't compete?

Yup, as well as open up a new business (not focused around pool). He still owns a pool hall, just doesn't compete anymore.

Apparently you didn't follow the 2006 US OPEN. CJ Wiley had a rather impressive showing. Including A win over Earl Strickland.;)

Damn, I just realized......I'm a pool junkie.lol.:D

Nobody else has heard of Tommy Sanders in Beaumont, Texas?

Yea, a few of us know Tommy Sanders. Back around 1990 when Reed Pierce was in dead stroke on the bar table Tommy Sanders shot his lights out playing even. Yea, Tommy Sanders could play.

Back when Tommy was playing a lot, not many wanted to match up with him. One that did, in the early 90's was Mark Tadd. They played at Ralph's place, The Corner Pocket, In Beaumont, TX. Tadd won the first day, they played the next day and broke even. I'm told Tadd's stake horse pulled up when he sensed Tommy was getting the momentum (Tadd wasn't happy to be pulled up). One of Tommy's stakehorses was Action Jackson who has some seriously deep pockets.

I think I saw Little Al Mason, but did nobody think to throw Robert Clark out there? He may not be a wordlbeater but certainly will give a road player a run for his money.
