Barbara said:Mr. Lucky,
There are a lot of people on this board that personally know Ted. I'm one of them and own one of his sneaky pete cues (cocobolo - way pretty). I once experienced what you're going through with a friend that had a collectible Meucci (hey- what's that? - but seriously) that I handed over to Ted at the SBE to have work done on it. It had been over a year and my buddy calls me up panicking because he can't get a hold of Ted, blah, blah, blah. I get a hold of Ted's answering machine and about a month later, I meet up with him at a pool tourney in Philly and get the guy's cue back.
Ted does a lot of work. Okay, maybe he doesn't manage his time too well but he's the one that gets so backed up at the SBE that he works the whole show through without practically sleeping any periods of time. He does great work and personally, he's the only repair person I will let touch my Szamboti should I need an emergency repair and he's one of many available to do it.
He reads this board also so I would try to resolve this personally.

I bought two Dale Perry cues off of ebay just because the price was so good and he second day aired them to me right away. But I took them with standard 13mm shafts and asked for nothing special. If you ask a cuemaker to taper the shafts down don't be surprised if that holds things up a couple of weeks or more, depending on how small you want the shafts. So my experience with Dale was two positive ones.LastTwo said:Dale Perrys hit very good and they are very nice looking cues, but the customer service sucks, plain and simple. If you bought one you would be satisfied, just so long as you don't go thru any of the bullshit I went thru.
MrLucky said:Barbara , perhaps you did not readmy statements so for your benefit I will reiterate! I gave the Cue to him and his partner Steve Lomax! Steve found out that Ted was having these same issues with other customers and kicked him out! ??

Ask Ted why he is no longer with the ACA (American Cuemakers Association), He did not resign. He will use Wilma as an excuse, of that I am positive. I am one of those customers, too, that got messed over...refused my calls, used Identi-ring to monitor calls, never emailed me back....this is his 'ole self"MrLucky said:Barbara , perhaps you did not readmy statements so for your benefit I will reiterate! Tarheel said:After nine months of going through the same ordeal with Ted Harris that you are now dealing with I gave him an ultimatum. Either send my cue by a specific date - and if I did not receive it within 3 days of that date then I (and a few friends) were driving to Atlanta to see him - and I was going to personally get my cue back. On the bright side, he did send the cue to me and he did a very nice refinish and wrap job but I will never deal with him again.
I believe there would probably be a standing ovation for just that very sight. way to gooooMrLucky said:I do plan on visiting 2 of the shows that he plans on being at ..... instead of some friends though i will have US Marshalls with a warrant!![]()
If the wrap was a leather wrap, Steve Lomax is most likely to have put on the wrapTarheel said:After nine months of going through the same ordeal with Ted Harris that you are now dealing with I gave him an ultimatum. Mr Luke! are you a attorney? probably not! nor by your assumption are you a cue collector or expert! the McDermott taken is considered a high valued cue but even if it weren't it is highly valued by me its value is way over the $500 threshold that legally defines a felony theft by conversion from a misdemeanor charge ! so thanks for you ASSumptions and advice but pardon me if I pass on bothlukeinva said:Ok so you think you got ripped off for $270. In the end it will all work itself out. Ted is probably behind like he always is. I do not think he would risk his reputation for an old McD probably not even worth the amount you put into it to get it repaired. I seriously doubt you will have marshalls with you at a cue show that would arrest him on site, the reason being is the cops DO NOT generally care about a cue unless its alot of cues or the cue is worth an ungodly amount of money! What probably happened is he finished your cue and then misplaced it and is trying to find it! If you want to actually arrest him you could call the cops in his jurisdication and make a complaint then there is a number of other things you could do. But then he would probably just be let go because your state would not try to extridite him, since the "crime" is so little to begin with! But since you mailed it to him you could probably get him on federal charges for mail fraud. But again nothing would probably happen he would just pay a fine and go and you still wouldnt have your cue.
diamondpete said:I am seeing alot of excuses as to why Mr Lucky may not have his cue, that by the way is completed and paid for....but the whole point is that the cue is finished, the repairs are paid for and this is a business. In any business, the person responsible for that business has a responsibility, no matter what, to communicate to his customer about the property entrusted to him and what is going on with that property. If the business man cannot follow through with what he is supposed to RIGHTFULLY do then he needs to quit that business and work for someone. Maybe Ted needs to work at Waffle House and make cues for a hobby. Whether it is $270 or $2700, a MCD or Samboti, doesnt matter, each should be treated with care and each customer with respect.
