Who is YOUR 5th Mosconi Cup Member for the US this year?

Archer, Strickland, Morris and Van Boening are already on the team. They said that they were going to wait till after the WPC to select the fifth. As of now who would you pick as the 5th member. My pick would be Deuel.

Archer
Morris
Schmidt
Van Boening
Deuel

Would be my list for the Mosconi Cup, but Strickland draws crowds and viewership.

Yeah, given that Strickland is in there, it's a toss up between Schmidt and Deuel. Not that it is indicative of anything but Schmidt performed very poorly in last years Mosconi Cup.

I still liked it better when there were 6 playing members. BTW, isn't Kim Davenport the non-playing captain this year?

Choices:
Corey - closes the deal as an anchor man, proven track record.
Aldrich - Playing well, deserves a shot.
Nevel - Overlooked proven seasoned player, he deserves a shot too.
Davis - He had a shot, got a little weak last year, and lucked out. (I don't enjoy watching him that much)
Schmidt - Didn't play that good before, but would be on target a 2nd time.
Danny - Always a good choice. Being on the team would be for Danny and the team in the long run.

Last year - The table was a joke. Everyone had the patented soft break down sinking the 1 in the side 90% of the time. It was like the break shot had tracks in the cloth.

nevel, ulrich , corey, or john. flip a coin. i personally think any of the four could also fill in either of rodney or earls spots. i don,t think the us team gets any better or worse with any 5 man combination of the four players above and the 4 already on the team.

It kind of doesn't matter which American player gets the popular vote because, in the end, those who pick the American player will do so based on their own formula.

That said, I personally don't think some of the players' names listed previously in this thread have been devoting a lot of time to their pool game in recent times, as evidenced by their names not rising to the top of the charts at various events. It comes down to pool politics who gets hand-picked to play in the Mosconi Cup, IMHO, because the ranking system for men's professional pool in these United States of America is just that -- RANK!

Louis Ulrich is definitely hitting 'em strong right now. I would definitely like to see him on Team USA. He can do some damage to Team Europe.

Larry Nevel is also out there on the tournament trail, devoting a lot of time to his game, and he has scored some wins. So I like him, too.

James Walden is a money man, but he's got my vote. This guy can play under all kinds of pressure situations, and he delivers the goods. He's out there playing every day and is in dead-punch stroke.

Shannon Daulton is my American favorite. He's playing frequently right now, runs a tour, and he can score wins. Shannon would be an EXCELLENT choice for the Mosconi Cup.

That's the way I see it in October 2007. Ask me next year this time, and I'm sure I'll have a few more to add to the list. These four above-referenced players, however, are today's top guns, IMHO.
