It'll either be Thorsten Hohmann who is on fire right now (and if I'm not mistaken, the winner of the last Turning Stone event earlier in the year) or Marlon Manolo who is also rollin' right now!!!

I think ....

that Manalo will win it. He is a rock solid player with a nice stroke and control. I don't think he can be denied a win very long.

For some reason, Manalo's addressing and stroking the ball remind me some of Mosconi.

Marlon Manalo

Are you sure that Marlon Manalo is participating? The Philippine 9-ball championship will be held around the same time too and he was also supposed to attend that.

Marlon Manalo, Santos Sambajon and Antonio Lining are not playing in the BSCP Philippine National 9-Ball Championships scheduled from August 15th - 20th.

They will be in Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun on August 9th and 10th and at the Turning Stone on August 17th - 20th.

Also, it was announced recently that Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante will have to skip the BSCP Philippine National 9-Ball Championships.

I agree, the only way to beat Marlon right now is to keep him in his chair. There are a couple of players there that are capable of doing that.

I have tried copying the way Marlon adresses the cueball. I think his routine is even better than Corey Deuel's.

yes

I am going to pick souquet as the winner of this event. I also think dennis hatch will be up there in the running.

This is so impossible.

But I will pick Ralf.

Coming close behind Hohmann. Manalo and Hatch.

PS- Santos, Antonio Lining, Manalo, Hohmann, Frankie and Tony all at Amsterdam tonite. Santos was breaking them real hard so when Frankie got the chance, he gave it everything he had, once making 5 and leaving the nine and two ball within 2 inches of a pocket. He had to be a few miles an hour harder than anyone else.

nostroke....to bad frankie and tony got shut out again....frankie should call and get on the list alot earlier. this is, i believe, the 3rd time it has happened to him.......are you coming up. if so. i will be there on thursday and again on Saturday...................mike

Glad to hear you can get away-Ill be there Thurs. Fri and Saturday. Then Ill decide on the finals but based on the field, Id have to say ill be there everyday. CYa in a week or so.

Howard Vickery replaces Thorsten Hohmann

Possibly because he won't be attending? ;)
Thorsten Hohmann just informed Mike Zuglan that he decided to go back to Germany after the International Challenge of Champions event.., he will be replaced by Howard Vickery, who was next on Mike's waiting list.

i'd bet 10k and give odds on the money that Hohmann DOES NOT win the turning stone event. Any takers?

could it be that is because you knew Thorston was heading home instead.... I would have made the same bet if i knew....good post. are you coming up to turning stone for the tournament..................mike

Not sure

I'm not sure who will win but I will be rooting for Allen Hopkins.

How many azer's will be attending this event?

I will be there! :)

I may or may not be there. But I will NOT be rooting for Allen Hopkins!!!

Originally, I picked Throsten but seeing as how he's been replaced, I'd have make Manolo the odds on favorite followed by Ralph Souquet. The only other person who I think has a strong chance of winning is Dennis Hatch.
