This cue was purchased in the Chicago area in 1993. There are no markings on it. Weight is 23oz, shaft dia is 13mm, wrap is varnished. Any information you can provide would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Not a Meucci IMHO.

Bumper and butt cap are wrong and it looks like the joint is wrong.

Reminds me of a Biagio or something like that.

23 oz, man that's a piece of lumber. Not sure, but the bumper reminds me of some older Adams/Helmstetter cues.

Some one pulled the brand name sticker off at the same time as the made in China sticker. Look at the severe variation in ring thickness, the lack of alignment of the inlays and stitch rings, the wood tear-out along the shafts joint collar, there is a reason there are no markings.

Hi,

I am guessing by the style it may be an Eddie Laube but this cue does not have the name plate in the butt but I am sure he made cue without that feature. The point geometry and butt size looks right and he always put dot inlays on his cue.

It looks like one of the higher end Asian cues from that time period.

I would tend to agree. Has a Helmstetter look to it, but doesn't appear to be as well made imo. I'm certain it's not an Eddie Laube cue. Good luck with your quest.

That's why I am saying along the lines of Biagio...the Asian ones, not the JOSS ones.

Does it have a weight bolt? If so, what does it look like? Can we get a pic?

Thanks for Everyone's Help

Thank you for your suggestions and information about who made this cue.

As requested, here is a pic of the visible end of the weight bolt (and bumper).

Thanks, again.

Asia knock off of a bunch of cues. It I take little from this guy and a little from this guy. Cue!

I am thinking that's not the original screw anyway. It's marked up and does not match the recess.

I mentioned Biagio already...it just struck me ..... maybe Stamboulini?

Just a thought, wanted to post it before I forgot about it.

It maybe and old Mali cue it has the same weight bolt style and rubber bumper of that time period. And afew people back then would remove the name so you would not know what kind of cue you were playing with or it may have had some work done to it and the name was removed when it was being refinished.
