Who makes the Best Rack

Jude,

Thanks for explaining that.

This was put out there to threaten anyone.

For instance: There are several 'knock off' Magic racks out there.

I am just letting everyone know that they will NOT be allowed.
It is about quality.

If you know me than you understand it is about the integrity of the game.

I only got interested in the Magic Ball Rack because I could see that it creates a GOOD rack (and helps eliminate all the BS that is caused by standard racks).

Just like I only got nvolved with Diamond because they make the BEST table (particulary in the 7' bar model).

Just like I got involved with TAR because they were doing something the pool world needed.

If it was about making money, I would not even be in this industry!

Hope that helps explain things a little bit.

To Peteypooldude - I appreciate how you could interpret my post as you did, and I hope this helps explain my postiion.

Mark Griffin, CEO
CSI - BCAPL - USAPL

Mark is good people and CSI does everything on the up and up at all of their events....

I will not engage in war between the Accu-Rack and the Magic Rack... We are not a knock off but a different design...

In some situations I think we may have the edge but not everyone will have to deal with room owners and bar owners who don't take care of the equipment....

I applaud the retailers out there who are only carrying the CSI version of the magic rack... This is a small industry and when you allow knockoffs traction in the retail channels you are guaranteeing the end of innovations in this industry..

I started Outsville because I have a passion for the sport and I am an engineer at heart... I always want to come up with something better or new and I hope the industry will continue to police itself in this country because patents are way too expensive for a niche market like billiards...

I don't expect Mark to sanction Accu-Racks at his events nor would I ask him since we do compete.. But I think he will readily admit that we are not a knockoff... =)

Woodworks out of TX, Vivian Villareal knows the guy. Been a long time, but tongue and groove wooden racks that are of the highest quality, and the sounds of the balls being racked is perfect. Dan Tull used them @ Shooters, and if ya drop em on the cloth, they Won't Cut the Fabric, even if they fell off a light. The Wooden edges were rounded.

I'm sure these are two repetitive stupid questions on the magic rack to which I still haven't played on yet, but its almost 5 so hear me out...

1. What % of the time would you say a ball has to be moved to remove the rack after the break and put back into place?
2. Anyone have experience with a ball taking a different path after touching the magic rack post break?

Fk it....just ordered the Accu-Rack...was only $24 for all 3. Hopefully it works out well on building my fake confidence that I have skillz!

haha, you won't regret it.

With the magic rack I can go a week without being unable to remove it in 9 and 10b.
Among friends, you just agree to lift the ball that's on it temporarily and then remove it.
It really doesn't come up much.

In 8b it does come up quite a bit more. I'd have to watch to get a percentage.
Maybe 5-10%?

Yes, it absolutely will make a ball take a slightly different path if it's rolling slow over one.
You can shoot a ball into the hole fine (if it has enough speed to comfortably reach a pocket
2 feet away, it won't veer off) but if e.g. the cue ball is coming to rest in that area,
funny things can happen.

For me personally this is so rare it's a non-issue.
Not only can the rack always be removed, but often the cue ball isn't crossing that area
until someone shoots the game ball.

Accurack is a little different, it takes up more surface area, especially the solid center, so it can be tougher to remove. But it still can be taken off the vast majority of the time in 9b / 10b.

I seem to recall seeing Alcano picking up a ball to remove the rack while playing a match in the Swanee tournament. No problem there. As long as there are no clusters on the rack, there should be no problem, even if the ball is replaced a few millimeters away.

If a problem ball is on the rack, I guess you'd have to be more careful to keep the ball exactly where it was.

I would not recommend using the MBR for One Pocket. :)

The only major interference I've experienced with the Magic rack is when the ghost ball for a particular shot is centered over the plastic. If you're drawing the cue ball, for example, the spin actually slides the MBR forward, and you get a little less action on the CB. Otherwise, I've had no problems with it.

Delta-13 Ball Racks

The Delta-13 Ball Racks! The reason being is because of the following:

1. Each one is measured by a CMM machine which allows it to create tight tolerances
2. It reduces cloth wear to due the smooth edges (opposed to a plastic or wooden rack)
3. It identifies undersized balls (move the balls spinning to the back of the rack for a tighter fit- this means balls are undersized)
4. Consistently gives you a tight rack with explosive results
5. It racks all games
6. You can personalize it on two sides
7. It has a sleek design
