A friend asked me to help find someone. to make a shaft for his Q. It has, what appears to be, 1/2" wooden threads.???...JER

When it come to wooden threads, Its' got to be Dieckman! I also know Parrot Cue in Richmond, Va does. "Professor QBall" current issue have Dieckman article on female wooden threads, next issue will cover male wooden threads article, or his written word at http://www.cuemaker.com Checkout Ron Kilby or Tom Huf also.

Jerry, do you have a lathe that you can thread with? Once in a while a billiard cue comes in with the threads messed up. I will plug it and bore it, then make a threaded pin, out of maple, and then glue it in the pluged, bored, hole and your on center. It's fairly easy. Same as for the female end. Chuck up the cue on CENTER, bore, plug, face, drill, bore, grind threads...Lots of guys should be able to do this simple task.....

It may be a Helmstetter thread. Check it with a mic and pitch gage, but shoud be a 13 x 2.59 metric thread.
