Who owns Predator?

Are they public, private or what?

Second, I can't believe the prices the BK2 is selling for. Hence my apprehension to purchase one. Thanks for the response(s).

It's a privately owned company, not open for trade on the public market.

Second, have you seen what drivers are going for in Golf? Same analogy, performance sells and people believe the break is the biggest shot in pool so it makes sense the break cue is the most expensive.

Its owned by a few people, but Karim Belhaj is the "face" (and one of the owners). Private company. As to the price, everything that Predator sells is overpriced especially considering that they're not even domestic cues. Even so, the BK2 is a good breaker and the 314 is still the best shaft on the market (although the OB1 is a close second).

poolsnark...That is a very subjective statement. There are those of us who don't believe that any Predator shaft is the "best" shaft on the market. I have used the shafts that came with my cues forever, and can perform any shot, that someone with a Predator can. Recently I was asked to test market one of the new Jerry Powers/McDermott I-Shafts, which have some technology that is a little like, but quite different overall, than Predator. I find this shaft to perform quite well, even though I haven't spent many hours playing with it yet (I told Jerry I would play with for 100+ hours, and give him my honest input...good or bad).

I have a 314/2 and an OB1 for my Schon, and I like them both, but I like the OB1 better than the 314 or my original shaft. I dont really like the excessive spin they promote, but the hit of the OB1 is freakin great! just my opinion......

I like the Z2. I think it's more consistent than anything I've tried and with a Super Pro tip on it I get the "click" I want when I strike the cb.

Any question of "which is better" is ultimately highly subjective. Of all the shafts I've played with, my personal opinion is that the Predator shaft is superior, however it should be noted that last night I lost 4-0 to Travis Trotter's dad, so I'm not sure how much my opinion is worth when it comes to this sort of thing. ;)

I don't own any Predator products, but I will give the founders/owners credit for their business sense. Love 'em or hate 'em, they've created a big name brand in the pool industry.

I couldn't see paying that much for a break cue either... especially it is not even a break/jump. I just use a cheap J & J to break with. I have played with predator cues for a long time & like the shafts very well.
