using the lotto method would require posting EVERYBODY"S name and the number that they have publicly in the forum, as opposed to keeping it confidential.

When you divide a number by another, there is the possibility of a remainder, a leftover. For instance if you divide 10 into 23, the answer is 2 with 3 left over. Now if you divide by 15, the leftover will always be 0 to 14. If you make 0 mean 15 won, you have your 14 number possibilities.
In computer terms this is called the modulo. If you want to play with this, bring up calculator which comes with windows in scientific view, then use the "Mod" button instead of the "/" button.

Why is that neccessary as long as the numbers are assigned ahead of time and each individual knows his number before the lottery is drawn. If person a is the only real person and the other 14 are phonies, he still has a 1 in 15 shot at winning.
 
Thanks, i understand now. I am fine using the lotto method. The number assigned to each participant will be posted in this thread.

Didn't the illegal NYC numbers lotto run this way but I think they used the daily take from Aqueduct Racetrack

Yea, I forget which numbers they used, but the numbers rackets used the pari-mutual results posted in the paper. Funny thing is I think the numbers rackets still survive despite the government competition because there are no taxes.

I will not take any money until I sell all 15 chances. If only 10 people express interest, then the raffle will get cancelled. I do not think that will happen though. We are already at 8 less than 12 hours into this. I am extremely happy with the postive response to this unusual sale. I am sure all fifteen will get sold.

On another subject, how is the James White treating you?
 
the James White cue is very solid. it plays awesome and gets a lot of compliments. good luck with the raffle and good idea.
