Who was or is, past or present the best pool playing cuemaker

So whats the difference in having a guy named Paradise build it for you, or having a machine called CNC do it??? No difference at all...Comissioned is a fancy way of saying and old school CNC machine. lol

So most of today's cue builders....are no different than Willie except they still cant play pool...

There are many that come to Mind, but in my opinion it may have been one of the following.

Bill Schick

Bill Stroud

Schick was a road player, long before he was a cuemaker and from what I've been told was a helluva 1 hole player.

Don't forget Jack Madden.

How about first starting with a list of cuemakers that are also former or current players. This has been brought up before and it's kind of hard to put certain people in the same category. For instance, it wouldnt be fair to compare Ernie (ginacue) to Shawn Putnam for instance. I dont know how much playing background Ernie has but I did watch him play at the DCC about 5 years ago. Ernie's cue's are much better than Putnam's but Shawn is a much better player so you would have to find a medium between cue quality and the makers playability. You could even go as far as to say that Siegel gives Bill Stroud the 8 and last two on the table but Bill's cue's are the 6 ball better than Mike's, just as an example. Maybe someday there will be a Cuemaker's Open and everyone will get to see who really is the best cuemaker/player.....

In no particular order
Bill Stroud
Richard Harris
Mike Gulyassy
Rick Howard
Bobby Hunter
Joey Gold
Pete Tascarella
Paul Mottey
Shawn Putnam
Mike Siegel
Dennis Searing
Bill Schick

Dave bollman..........

Bollman was at one time ranked 3 in world and he is still playing good at 70 yrs old!! If you want action go to qmasters and he will still usually play about anyone some one hole...................makes great hitting cues as well!

I keep asking the Magic 8 Ball the question with NO REPLY.
