According to my guestimates in time travel, the broadcast should have happened by now.

So who watched it?

Please provide some reports.:D

I watched the match, well done.I would have enjoyed a match with a couple of players that can run 75-80 balls in a race to 150.LJJ looked very nice.

I just watched it and enjoyed the change from the usual ESPN matches. Hope to see more IPT finals on FSN.

I just watched it...

i think it was better TV than most matches, as many non-players around me were capitvated(well after I turned it on).... however I think the pool was a bit lacking as with all the motion and editing it was hard to tell how s/he strung a rack together and whatnot.

I realize it was the first one and they are trying to introduce the tour, but I was hoping for more actual pool. I think I saw LJJ take maybe 8 shots the entire hour. Also, get Kevin out of the booth. They put a top player in the booth for analysis and don't let him talk.

The video side of the production was good, although I would like to see the end of the table camera view up just a little bit higher.

I'll be interested to see what they do with a whole lineup of top players. It should be alot of fun to see.

Yeah- i thought he was annoying on his commercials but he outdone himself in the commentary booth.

I have to agree

I also would have liked to see more pool. I hate when they skip complete racks. Other then that I think they kicked it off well. Looking foward to the next round.

So what did I think of it? All I can say is that the most memorable line was from Mike Sigal during his interview where he said:

If she wins, you'll never hear the end of it. If I win, I'm supposed to win.

Boring

I found it rather boring and kept flipping from channel to channel. Not enough intense or drama to it. especially since they announced the results long ago. to me that just made it more anti climatic. but that is just my opinion...but what do i know................................................................mike

Ok im watching it now and from a players point of view the broadcasters SUCK BAD they act like they know next to NOTHING about the game and Kim knows the game but his comments sound like a rank3 , but its still good for pool getting exposure on tv. all i can think to say

I thought it was good, but it wasn't without it's trivial problems. I got a little tired of Kevin harping on how bad Lori was playing in the beginning, and how great Mike was. Let's have a little semblance of impartiality here. I didn't like that they cut out what the purse was at the end!! WTF, this is about how we're actually getting some money into the game and it's only reffered to as "the grand prize" presented to MS, and we see him holding two fat stacks of cash, and a clip of LJ holding up a check for 75k. If it was a PGA tour stop you'd have heard the dollar figure loud and clear.

I think overall it was great for pool, and I hope it's only the beginning.

It ******* sucked!!!!!! Bucket pockets, horrible match up, and it was so unprofessional! It looked like ballbreakers! The only thing I kind of liked was the slow cloth. It brought something unique to television pool. All of the celebrities there mad it gay and the interviews with them just killed it! The players bobbled so many balls it wasnt funny, especially Lauree. That was horrible tv! Loree plays like the 7 and 8 under him! It wasn't even a fair game! Too much talking between the player just made it look so unprofessional.

It was horrible thats all I can say!!!!!!!!

damn, that was the best thing that's happened to pool in my life, i'm 22. So what if they treated us like idiots, most people are. it's not designed for pool players, read the ipt website. if you're a serious poker player the poker on tv sucks too, but the point is that it gets great ratings and increases the popularity of it. order some accu-stat tapes if you want to really watch some pool for pool players.

The best thing? Maybe its because you're 22. I dozed off after about 5 or 10 minutes. It didn't grasp my attention at all. When I woke up it was still on and I changed the channel. I guess some will like it and some won't. I didn't care for it.

It was hard to show a lot of pool what with all the commercials and an hour time slot, however you are way off on llj stats. They showed about 43 of her shots and considering she only won 4 games that was about all she got. They showed all her shots in all her wins.
All those announcers are amateurs to announcing so just mute it. This was a great advertisement for things to come.

It hasn't been on here yet, so don't tell me who wins.

Cheers,

It's almost over now (on my TiVo, the best way to watch pool, esp. when Trudeau is on during the commercials). Overall, I liked the atmospherics the IPT put together, and I would really enjoy watching a competitive match. Unfortunately, LJJ was sorely outmatched.

Also, I wish they'd show more of the racks, even if they have to clip out the parts where the players think and line up the shots. From what I could tell, Sigel wasn't really stringing racks. Often they would show his last few shots, and most of those times it looked like LJJ had a failed run out. If he gives up that many shots against the winner of the invitational, Sigel's doomed.

Two more observations: the pockets looked real loose, and Kim Davenport needs to do more of the talking.

Cory

P.S. Sigel just snapped the 8, and they called it a win (straight on break, a kiss off the bottom rail to make the 8 in the side). The rules seem to otherwise be BCA.
