Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there knows who won or who the final 12 were and what place they finished.

I was there and played on Saturday. I lost my first match 100-18 to a guy from New York names Paul ????? He shot very well. I won my second match against Ed Scott 100-73 and I won my third match against Rodney ????? 100-50. I was able to start my 4th match but unfortunately wasn't able to finish. I had some stuff come up and that could not be ignored and ended up having to leave.

I am very proud of myself though. I have played in about 10 or 11 of the AZ all-around tournaments over the last few years and this is the first time I have ever won a match. I also ended up getting second place in the 8 and under sidepot and winning $60.

I want to thank Jimmy and Dennis for putting the whole tourney together. Bull for running it and doing a great job. Fast Lenny for streaming it over the internet and Kolby's for having it.

Sounds like you had a good day, too bad you had to leave the event early.

Great job Brady. You played very well.

Bernie won after playing about 112 matches on Sunday. I watched Bernie and Jimmy in the 5th place match -- Bernie ran 71 (the HR of the tourney) to get to 99 when he got stuck after a break shot. Played safe, Jimmy took a bunch of intentional fouls, and about an hour later Bernie finally pulled it out. Jimmy had an open table finally and ended up w/ a crazy scratch in the side. Bernie ran the last few for the finish.

An excellent tournament. Big thanks to Dennis, Jimmy, Bull, Kolby's, all the sponsors and of course Fast Lenny for the great stream.

Thanks Al.

That is cool that Bernie won. I picked either him or Jimmy to win it. A run of 71 is awesome! That really put the pressure on Jimmy. Jimmy did great coming back to 5th after losing his first match.

The real winners were all of the fans that were treated to an excellent webcast of this tournament.

Thanks go out to Lenny, Dennis, Jimmy, and all of the sponsors that made this tournament a success.

For those of us that love the game of 14.1 - we were entertained, even if we did chuckle a bit at the patterns (or lack therof) by some of the players.

I hope we get to see more pool action from Arizona in the future!

Great job!

You must be referring to my match Sat. night against Dennis...

Disclaimer....This was the first time ever I have played 14:1.

I actaully think I was mentally done before we ever started that match....I actually had a 30 in my first match...(lost 100-75)

Won two on the losers side....but was so mentally wore out focus wise I don't think I ever got through a rack against Dennis...

Amazing how much focus that game takes.

I agree. I thought it was pretty awesome that 42 players showed up for this event.

I know Lenny wants to do this kind of stuff (live streaming) more often and hopefully he can.

You are lucky they didn't put me on the live stream table. You would have been doing more than chuckling :)

No Ken, not talking about you. lol

I got a kick out of watching Bobby Emmons - the kid was all over the table, but he would clear the table in like 20 seconds and then (somehow) he would get perfect on the break ball.

ROTFLMAO!

Despite the technical aspect - he was amazing and he was fun to watch. Bottom line, that kid can shoot!

Bobby is definetely a shot maker. He plays very fast and shape is an after thought :) I have known Bobby since he was a kid - he even lived with my wife and I for a while. He has always shot that way and probably always will. I was glad to see him to well.

As Bobby puts it...making balls is easy...

I kind of found it to be a fun tournament...even though I had no clue what I was doing...I was actually trying to learn as I went along by watching other matches... Pattern wise...I doubt I ever identified the "correct" pattern...

I was using a CRC method to get me through the tournament...(Corner Balls - Rail Balls - Center Balls)..Unless I happened to be perfect on a ball that would open up the rest of the rack.

I am not even sure if that is a correct method, but thats what I went with.

I may have to spend some time on the 14:1 section.....

It would be nice to see some more 14:1 tournaments in the future.....(Instead of this once a year thing)

Great Job Brady!! Glad to hear you did well. I asked Dennis on the Live Chat how you did during Jimmy's match with Bernie.

He said you played well and won 2 or 3, he couldn't remember at the time.

1st) Bernie Pettipiece
2nd) Scott Frost
3rd) Chuck Evans
4th) Tres Kane
5th/6th) Jimmy Mendoza
5th/6th) Paul Granda (I think)

Paul Granda is the guy that destroyed me in the first round. I was up 16 to 4 or 5 at one point and the next thing I knew - I lost 100-18 OUCH!

I won two matches and possibly could have won another but I had to take off. Too be totally honest I didn't think I would even still be there that late. It's all good though. I had a great time and knocked a goal off my list :) Now I need to replace it with another one.

Paul Grande (pretty sure)-Known as Paulie Woodpecker when he was a NY kinda guy. He had an unfinished Furniture store called the Woodpecker but he looks a bit like one anyway. Tell him Gravy said he has to represent a little better and lucky for him that I did not get that flu he tried so hard to give me in Vegas.

BTW Guys if you are sick, please stay away from me. I have a little Michael Jackson in me.

See that bump in your Rating just helped you to focus a little more and that's what pushed you over the edge in winning your first match.

I played in a few of the old tour's last year. Won 1 or 2 matches in each of the first 2 events, but nothing more. Then I played in the year end finale and drew Scott Frost the 1st round. Yeah. Didn't play in 6 of his 9 wins. 3 runs and 3 - 9 ball breaks (and they were all in a row). After that I buckled down and managed to win 5 matches in a row, including some 10 rated players. I forgot how I got knocked out, but man was it fun. I learned so much on that day. And came back on Sunday to watch the remaining 8.

Great job!
