he would not win again for sure. he is playing good but to say he will win hands down is cutting some of us short. you,derrick,jude, or myself could have caught a gear at any time and would have gotten there. i had a bad day oh well i am already past it. i look forward to getting a chance to redeem myself on stream

That's exactly why a player should be raised IMO. If he is dominating 8s then he needs to start competing with 9s & 10s otherwise he's not being allowed to develop.

That's the whole point of a handicap system as far as I know.

Derrick was lucky that day if you ask me. On those tables he was playing good but he is not better than carlos or even at his level. Put derrick on a big table and I will put my house on carlos to win it all.

What about the one that Lenny won, was it not an 8 with azbilliards folks also? Yet, he got bumped. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying there has to be some legitimacy in the system. I've been on both sides and have witnessed the inconsistency with rating with my own eyes.


Feel free to attend one of the meetings and you will see for yourself, there is always going to be favoritism to some players staying lowered or raised for various reasons.

Ask Jerry, he even mentioned the fact that one establishment's member refused to raise someone based on the fact that they spend money in their establishment. Is that really fair? Or should they even be allowed to participate when they are not being honest? I don't think so. These folks should be confronted and removed immediately when something like that occurs.

The only thing I see 9's running are their mouths!! Set up a match and play it and show us your skills instead of always jumping into the 8's threads and tourneys. I don't think I have EVER mentioned that I was anywhere near 10 speed....I am probably much closer to 8 speed....and No I was not really worried about getting bumped.........Actually it would not make much difference since I only play in open events anyway........

Fact of the matter is that most 10s IMO are really only true 9 speed...most 9s (including me) are really only true 8 speed.......I am not sure if I have ever seen you play, but I suspect you would probably be a 7


There was a challenge match for 9s at Northern a while back....Scooby won...(Surprise he was bumped to a 10)....Belive me I wanted to play...but I lost my job back in September of last year and have been finacially strapped since...I am sorry but pool is NOT my top priority.


Jerry is putting together a 9s allround...I plan on playing if at all possible.


I suppose after basically making the above comment that makes me appear as a weak 9 at best........and a chump......you will want a game on the wire or the wild 8 ball if we play.


Sorry....I won't jump into any more threads on a public forum for 8s and under.....as far as jumping into 8s tournys....I would LOVE to be an 8 again and jump into as many as I can...but they kicked me out........

Lenny never won anything other than 3 challenge matches for the title against a bunch of chumps (myself included). I do not think lenny beating me, Tim or Brady had anything to do with him getting bumped. I think Lenny bragging too much got him bumped. Making posts to the forum every time you place in a tourney or saying you played perfect set of 9 ball with no missed shots might have something to do with it.

lmao carlos is extremely tough action for any 8. 1 day doesn't prove crap to me when i didn't even play him. not saying i am suppose to win against him especially about to fall asleep. (which i did on car ride home) i am saying he is top tier 8 rated player. i aint scared of no avalos hahaha well maybe his boy... he plays well for his age.

This statement makes a lot of sense to me and if that is the case then Carlos is an 8 and so are you Ken. If it is based on consistency then I think I play like a 7 with moments of an 8 but overall I play like a 7 now. Most 9's I have played against have their moments but overall they play like very consistent 8's IMO.

My point exactly, raising someone based on their bragging? Hmm, maybe an inconsistency on the part of the ratings committee. Show some proof that Lenny should be a 9.

I don't ever recall someone getting bumped based on bragging. If that were the case, mark me down to be a 6 please. :)

Better yet, if that was the case, Jude would be a 10(-4), just ask him. lol

sounds a lil like the new chairman has put a focus on how much you spend is your rating. kinda funny when he is opening a new bar right? the rating have zero to do with how much money you spend. they are using the ratings for their own financial gains???? if you dont spend get raised?? i have heard these comments before dennis and it's sickening. you might get a new dct member at least i can pay only one fee there and get to play

Rest assured your A,B,C rating will have nothing to do with how much $ you spend. (unless you buy me food and drinks at every event) j/k lol :)

All kidding aside, i hope that Mike and Jerry do good things with the committee. Again, i'm just saying some changes need to be made. They both have my respect and i realize how much work goes into it. Mike is well respected and Jerry is still fairly new to the Az. scene. I'm sure they will do the right things. No system is perfect, and at the same time, it shouldn't be the same ole, same ole. I hope for everyone's sake in Arizona, improvement and change is coming.

dude you are too sensitive . internet trash talkin should be taken for what it is. just that internet smack talking. i understand your position, but to exclude yourself from trying to improve our situation makes you just as guilty of bringing the game down as the people who rate their freinds incorrectly or not letting people play their tourny's cuz they dont spend enough. i am not attackin you by any means as i appreciate your voice. have you ever heard of the good sam. law?

lmfao now that's funny. jude catches more crap than anyone i have ever seen. sure he brings 90% on himself but the kid has alot of heart and a good sport. he doesnt mind fighting for what he believes in and i respect that alot. in a pool world that has best friends chopping each other up, it is refreshing to see someone like myself out there. if bragging gets you bumped i would be in judes rating lmao. i am the worlds most gracious loser and the absolute worst winner. i like it to sting when i win haha
