Why not Shane vs Efren Reyes?

I would love to see Shane match up against the magician, Efren Reyes. That would be an exciting match which I am sure will sell a lot of tickets and get the most online viewers.

Sorry for OT but how much was the stream S.V.B.-C.D.? And the quality?

The cost was ten dollars per day and the quality was awesome:D :D The best twenty dollars I spent since I was a kid in Miami, Florida and you could get a hooke...oh oh, never mind I am old an married now;) ;)

if he plays Earl, we'll get a better glimpse of his abilities, but smoking Corey already speaks volumes

I see him as even money against Orcullo, Yang, Wu, Schmidt,

still an underdog against Reyes though

There may have been a time when that was true, although I doubt seriously Dennis would make that offer to Rodney or Johnny. Today everything has changed. SVB is the fastest rising star in Pool. As much as I like Dennis' game, if he gave Shane the 8 at Ten Ball, I'm going the other way.

All this is just conjecture though. Very doubtful that any big games will be made on here, just discussed a lot. Mostly a lot of woofing takes place on this forum, which isn't all bad. That is a good gauge of the interest. For a big game to come down, there must be some serious negotiations between the money people to make it happen. And the players must agree to it also.

Shane has definite ideas about who he will or will not play at this time, and what game he wants. And I respect that. If I'm going to bet serious bucks, I want the player to like the game too. Shane is not only a good player, he knows how to make the right game at the right time. And right now, that means that Earl is next. After that, we'll see.

You are right about one thing. There are some filipinos and Chinese players asking to play Shane. And no one is offering any weight anymore. I expect they will get their chance.

What was said was that Shane will play ANYONE even 8 ball on the bar table. That was all that was said.
Any other games with Shane like banks and one hole you would have to find out but we know he isnt likely to play anyone even in those two disciplines.

I for one would love to watch him play 8 ball on the bar table. I play that game some and would like to see how and what he does.

He broke and ran 9 racks on Scott Frost at Qmasters last year and won the ten ahead set in 12 or 13 games and Scott was done with eightball. Period......

For a number of reasons it may be the case that one or two of the Brits would also be opponents worthy of some respect on a bar table at 8 ball:)

I like Darren Appleton as a possible opponent in bar table 8 ball..:D

Oh my god... Alright let's get this straight.

Shane doesn't play 1-pocket. These wishes to see him play Danny Harriman and John Schmidt are just retarded.

Shane and Dennis Orcullo matched up in Vegas. Although Orcullo won the tournament, Shane beat him gambling. This was right after Orcullo beat Efren out of a bunch of money. Orcullo couldn't hang and quit.

As stated before, Shane's open invitation is for 8-ball on the bar table. Why? Because he is quite possibly the best in the world in that game. I'll be willing to bet that he won't turn down an even 9-ball or 10-ball game either.

Is Dennis this good, can't imagine anyone giving weight to Shane after his last match. Jay, how would these two guys match up? I'd like to see this as the Action Challenge Part 3.

To answer your question; he can give up weight if he wants but he won't win. Besides, I seem to remember John Schmidt saying that he'll play any of the filipinos even 9-ball, 1-pocket, or 14.1. This is all just woofing from across the globe. Put Shane and Dennis in the same room together and they'll end up playing even. If Orcullo gives up the 8, I know Schmidt would take it. So would Shane. But Orcullo won't give it up. Guaranteed.

Like I said in post #29, the days of anyone giving weight to Shane are over. At least not in 9-Ball or Ten Ball. He has established himself in the last year as a top ten player worldwide.

For all you non believers...trying to figure out a game that will give you an edge with Shane, he respects players abilities but make no mistake about, he believes he is the best in the world. He is very prudent about his bankroll. He lays mostly his cash on the rail so he's got the nutz, too. And he is not out on the road setting up hustles. He is doing this right out in the open. He would have played that race to 100 in one day, if he would have had his way, with no lunch break. Maybe he saw the Color of Money one too many times, lol. Oh by the way, he does have a one pocket game, lol. But IMHO that would be like asking Ruth to lay down a bunt with the bases loaded.

1 pocket against Efren would be my suggestion. So the fans could cool down a little. If he doesnt play 1p then i suggest something similar to a color of money against one of the top pinoys.
Corey is good but he is not a "killer" but pinoys are when it comes to money;)

why would you put him against the greatest one hole player in the world right now??? maybe even the best of all time at it...

Matches I'd love to see SVB play even:
10-ball race to 100 vs. Orcullo
9-ball race to 100 vs. Bustamante or Yang
8-ball race to 30 bar box vs. Efren Reyes

If he thinks he's the best in the world (and he might be), here's how to find out. Play 3 of the most dominant players at their games, and see how he does. I think these would be awesome to watch.
