Who would you take on the road?

If he was still alive, God rest his soul, It would definately have to been Nick Vlahos. One of the magazines did a story on Nick a few years ago titled something like "He robbed texas without a gun." Was one hell of a player and gambler. They called him the Indian. many of the old timers knew him. Would play anybody, and i mean anybody, with just getting the breaks..............mike
 
I'd take any of the women from the WPBA tour ranked 10 thru 20. Recognition wouldn't be a problem, and I'd head to LA via every pool hall and dew drop inn south of Tennessee. We'd make a mint.

yes he was roland. he was from the Peabody area. Not only was he a great player but he was also you hell of a gentleman as well. He was also the smartest gambler i ever knew. he bought and rehabbed all the property he owned from his pool winnings. Like i said. smart man and gambler...........mike

On a more serious note I would take Bernie Mikkelsen after he secretly practiced for a couple months. The guy could still beat virtually anyone in the world and has been away for long enough he would get lots of games.

Bernie has the greatest stroke Ive ever seen. But he would need a money manager. He had a rough time in LA making games and getting moved on. A gentle giant but needs a lock artist for a partner. Which leads to another thought Road partners who are money smart. I take Weenie Beenie.

I am. I've been watching it ever since '93 too. I'd take Randy Couture with me. He's not only tough as Hell, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Maybe Matt Hughes too. With those two, you could take on an army!!

I'd probably want to go with Gremlin too because he knows where all the pretty pool players are!!

How about Bob Sapp ? With his appearance, no one would even dream of starting a fight :-) I think he's not in Ultimate Fighting, but in K1.

170kg of muscles would scare a few people...:-)) and he says he eats normal food...yeah right! There's talk of him fighting Mike Tyson in K1...not to be missed if it happens!

Cool. I would like to see Belfort win on the 31st. Jorge Rivera from Team Elite in Massachusetts is on the card again. I'd like to see him win big. Massachusetts Submission Academy is about 20 miles from where i live. :D

I thought he was. A friend of mine told me how good he was. He use to see him shooting in Chelmsford allot at Country Club USA. I was told he was the best in New England.
 
well i must say if you are going to have that kind of staking ....i would think you would want to take unknowns that will get the cash and have the heart to bet.....im a firm believer that you dont have to bet big to win big.....you just need to make the right choices.....a lesson that was taught to me by a great player from kentucky named charlie brown....super smart about his moves taught a hard headed guy like me alot....i would recommend gary abood and charlie brown as they are bot great players that are very knoledgeable of all the games.......and gary is fearless when hes playing one hole......and be careful about going to shreveport to play the bartender at tournament billiards....you might get a severe headache as that would be the infamous mr. abood.....also both players are straight up guys that dont depend on chemicals to make them play good....cant say that about alot of players but i know i can bet my life on it with these two cats......juston coleman
 
Actually there is a guy who used to live in Calgary that was known as Mike Lewis. I would take him with a large stake. The guy could get anyone in the world to play him. I was with the guy when we went into a bar and he proceeded to get a guy to play him for $50 a rack 8-ball. Thing is the guy had a broken arm and one arm was in a sling. The guy was drunk as a fish and played 1 handed while Mike played 2 handed, at the time Mike was one of the top 3 players in the city. I have never seen a guy that could stir up action like the guy, Newfies, go figure. Taking him on the road he would get you so much steady action in the $100-500 range that you would clear thousands a day and never have to play a guy who could run a rack. After all the chumps were finally hiding Mike could then go with almost anyone, he could run consistent 5 packs without breaking a sweat.
