Who's the best player you've beaten?

I've been very fortunate in my lifetime.

I've played and beat many great players:

Ray Martin and Jim Rempe Back to back matches at The New York State Championships.

Mike Zuglan sometimes. Although he beat me many more times than I beat him. Same goes for Nick Vlahos.

Boston Shorty, Larry Loscotti, Mike LeBron, Don Polo, Rich Hanson, Mike Massey, (Exhibition match) Chris Mac Donald, Tony Robles, I know there are more but right now I can't think of them.

I also lost to a lot of great player's. Effrin Reyes, 11-8. It was tied 8-8. Steve Miserak, 11-10, a true heart breaker. Allen Hopkins, twice, Dennis Hatch, every time, he owns me.

As I said, "I've been fortunate. Just to be able to say I got a chance to play some of the very best."

I beat Ewa Lawrence Mataya and Nick Varner!

[in an exhibition where they let me win, so I'd get a free T-shirt] :grin-angelic:

Can hear him grown now, but I beat Joe Tucker 9-1 at Mike Zuglan's old room in an All About Pool event. Sadly I still finished 1 out of the money, but it was my best finish. Never did cash in one of those tournaments. Joe was a total gentleman and very much a good sport.

best player i have beaten

The only Pro I ever beat was Keither the Ether.....in a handicap tournament with a big spot.....but I will take it .....

I also beat Keith McCready once in 1995. It wasn't really a handicap tournament except for pros. Pros had to give game weight. It was a short race, he goes to 7 and I go to 5. I won 5-0 and he only came to the table twice to kick.....

i played Mike Masse in a 10k added 9-ball tournament in kelona bc...he was leading 8-7 in a race to 9...i three fowled hooked him to tie it up 8-8...then i ran out the last to win 9- 8. after i was told i was the first canadian to 3 fowl him in a canadian tournament

WOW! That is an AWESOME track record Tom.

Wow!!!!
I loved watching Sang Lee play.
No clone, he had his own way of doing things...like Nick Price at golf.

..remind me to only play you on a table that has pockets...

I played him on a table w/pockets :).

Just kidding, it was in the preliminaries in the 93 USBA 3c nationals... but that was like two lifetimes ago. He was being kind early because we were playing in my home room, the original California Billiards in San Jose and there were approx 100 people in the stands. But I still averaged 1.25 to eke out the win. Sang Lee then paid me the ultimate compliment, he ran a 15 & 9 when we met in the finals. It was a close game except for his 24 points in 2 innings .

Leil gay, Kenny McCoy, Paulie Campbell, Norm Wines, Jesse Padilla, Paul Bowman, Weldon Rogers, Rodney Keown,. Wow am I getting old. If anybody recognizes all of them and where they are from, definitely gets drinks on me at the DCC...

ohio ... kenny is from cbus can still b seen at players .... n leil is from clevland i think .... so ima guess the rest r from ohio

i got to play ole scotty townsend 3 times in the same tournament once. the score of the two sets i lost were 14 to 1 haha. I think i made him mad:D

Dave Hemmah - 9 ball. getting 1 game spot race to 6
Francisco Galindo - 10 ball. Even. Dont remember the race. 7 or 8 I think
Corey Harper - 9 Ball. Race to 7
Shane Manole - 10 ball. Same tourney as Shane
Jimmy Mendoza - 9 Ball. Race to 7. B side of Swanee tourney.

The Ghost. I've never been able to beat it, but last weekend played 39 games against the ghost and won 20 -19. Never made 9 on the break and only made one 9 ball combo in the entire set. Not sure what came over me. My break was working great, I guess.

Played well that day.....

......and beat Corey Deuel 9-5 in a Florida Pro Tour event about 7-8 years ago. He was very nice in defeat....shook my hand and complimented me on my play.

Most painful loss....was down 6-1 in a race to 7 with Ray "Cool Cat" Martin. Played great and got it to 6-6......I broke and ran the final game..and scratched on the nine......he went on to win the tourney.

Niels Feyen 6-4 in 9-ball , he missed 5 balls i think ! Me only 1 !
Roman Hybler 6-0 in 8-ball , i won the lag and then 6 break and run's !!! Yeah

Tony Robles- One game of 9 ball at the Predator booth at the or '09 Hopkins expo. i got a free poster! lol.
