Why 5 Days for a 64 player tournament?

I have asked this question a few times over the years on here and never got an answer. Why can't The WPBA have their tournaments in poolrooms like most of the men's are? There are poolrooms today that are very up-scale. Why does it take five days to run a 64 players tournament with the final 16 single elimination? The men run 128 in two days. Even if your in the final 16 that extra 3 days cuts into your purse winnings. Johnnyt

I would say primarily it is because they are trying to disassociate themselves with the seedy image of poolhalls and bars.
 
More meals, more hotel stay nights, more gambling losses, in general, more time for guests to spend money at the facility hosting the event... pretty simple answer I believe.
 
The format...

I believe that Wednesday is the Pro/Am day event...meet and greet with the lady pros for the spectators and fans and an event that amateurs can participate in with the pros...then the actual tournament starts on Thursday..

If a player loses on Thursday then she is done until Friday...this way no one is out in two on the first day of play...kinda of nice maybe...maybe not??? I feel that it is good...especially cuz you travelled so far and then you might as well spend some time at the event...I am sure this was voted on in some way...

I believe that the Ladies only use 8 tables for their tournaments?? Maybe 10 at most....
