I was watching a live stream of a "blackball" match with a Scottish guy playing an English guy. One commentator was English, one Scottish. In the chat I said I was having trouble understanding the Scottish guy and he replied "I'm talking as slow as I can".
Funny thing is, my ancestry is Scottish. I can't understand my own relatives.

I think the English prefer the term bollocks.
I wouldn't pretend that for a second, but the level of cue ball control shown in your average professional snooker match dwarfs that shown in your average professional pool match.
It's hard to watch a pro snooker match without being blown away at some point by a positional shot - I can't say the same of pool, sadly.
Yes, because Earl, Johnny, Efren, SVB, et al, never come with a "shot" many, many times for some crazy position. How the heck to you win 9b US Opens and World Championships without bringing it ??

The best pool players have unbelievably good positional skills. I'm not debating that. I just think that pro snooker players have better ones than their pool playing counterparts.

And no, snooker players don't play better position. Would not some low level slob on the snooker tour just come and steal the US Open money? Or at least a 9b or 10b world championship money. Not the biggest prize pools, but surely enough to buy a cup of tea and a biscuit

I said it's a common occurence in snooker - i.e. almost every match. It's not in pool.
No, never in a 9b or 10b match ?? You cannot run racks without it being a "common occurrence" in either of those games. Every see Earl on a 10 foot table ? Or Johnny? Of many others?

as the best 'six by six' player in the world....his weakness, long shots.
Cliff learned a lot playing many forms of pool and also 3-cushion billiards.
