Why are there so many "guests" to AZ ?

Every time I sign on to AZ's forum, there are many more "guests" than members signed on. WHY ? I doesn't cost anything to join and I'm sure many of the guests could have good positive input to the varied topics on the forum if they were members.

Shouldn't all of our members talk it up with their friends to join?

Just as importantly and maybe even more importantly, when the "guests" register, they get to make searches for posts or threads of particular interest to them.

Also, if you are a member you can search for posts by your favorite poster.

The list goes on an on.

Good thread! (Register and get your feet wet. We want to hear what you have to say).

Many of them are APA players who have seen the kind of abuse APA players are sometimes subjected to, and decided it ain't worth it.

Obviously i don't play APA but if i am understanding this correctly APA frowns on AZ. Why would that be? APA was designed to introduce new players to pool. Wouldn't their next step be to learn all they could by visiting a forum like AZ?

No, I think it's just the opposite. There have been many comments made by members here that have been less than supportive of the APA or people who play there.

Just sayin'.

I think a lot of people don't like being jumped on, and would rather stay out of the fray. Afraid of feeling like they asked a "Stupid Question". Not that there is such a thing, but after watching the fire works they might be skittish..
And it seems a lot of people may log out to read and log in to post..

Just speaking for myself, I read the forums on AZ daily but don't bother to login unless I feel I have something to add.

My point exactly ! Register, then LOG ON, then contribute something of value for ALL AZ'er to enjoy !!! ( don't just be a taker !)

There IS a reason many "bad mouth" the APA and since I do play APA, some, (certainly not all) of the negative comments ARE justified !

So why wouldn't those comments be directed at those who deserve it, rather than paint anyone associated with APA that way.

Oh yeah, it's cool to denigrate the lowly APA player. Cyber-bullying, AZB style. Be one of the cool kids, make fun of the ignorant league player. Cuz the ignorant league player sure as hell ain't gonna hang here and actually learn something, since the welcome they get here is so warm.

Yep. Justified. Got it.

Fact is, most people just look here for information and to see what is going on. Or there are those of us that are not permanently logged in, so we have to relog if we want to post something.
...
As for the APA thing, people are going to talk out their asses any chance they get. Most BCA players are APA 5s or 6s, or at least from what I've seen. On average, the BCA player will be a little bit better because of the lack of skill restriction, but that leads some of them to believe their shit don't stink.

Just a bunch of better-than-yous around here, no matter what you do or how you do it. **** 'em and have fun playing however and whatever you want to.

for some reason the site doesnt keep me logged in. I was viewing the forums not logged in until just now.

Agreed

Sometimes I just like to browse. Also, a lot of members may have situations at work where they can't log in. They can probably view the boards, but because of firewall (or "Big Brother") restrictions, cannot log in or post anything.

As for the APA players, it's unfortunate they are bashed. No one was born knowing how to swim, so why do those who have learned ridicule those who are still trying? As for the organization itself, it can't be refuted that there are less-than-honest LOs, but that's another story entirely.

I think most of the guests are either previously banned members, or
anti-social APA players afraid of receiving a "friendship" request from cocobolocowboy.
